The weight of a person would not allow it to fly.
As you can see, those planes are fairly light. A single man can pick it up, despite its size. For the plane to be able to carry a small person (about 50kg or 100 pounds) it would become heavier. The engine would become bigger, making it heavier. Thus the wing size has to increase and the amount of thrust the engine can generate must increase. For the plane itself to be able to handle all the forces acting upon it while in flight, it becomes heavier. All this comes to an end result that you have to scale it up a lot more than 1.5x .

It's probably an old emergency-strip for crop-dusters and private flights. They have one like this out near my grandparent's farm in South TX.

kinda agree - i always thought i would LOVE rc piloting (used to play a lot of flight sim back in the day) but i just could never get into it

and everyone knows that long rectangular fields are canadian. since there are no mountains, it is probably west of BC (maybe alberta or saskatchewan).

Does it stall at around 2:30 ?
Or does it lose its RC signal and turns back automatically ?

He's just doing a loop. The stall speed on these things is pretty low.

RC planes have to be fundamentally aerodynamic - they don't have the onboard computers to control flight surfaces like modern aircraft, so controlling them has to be pretty basic and handled with minimal interference.

I don't think it was built for it originally. Pretty sure you don't need a 1300+ meter paved runway for RC stuff. ~100 meter will do.

Once Live view cameras are MUCH cheaper we will see a paradigm shift in RC. I cant wait till I can watch it fly away and put on my VR head gear and fly up to 10k feet.

If it is the airport I linked, it does have a building and fuel pump.
4500' long will accommodate many business class jets.
