Anyone ever use their GoPro to record a soccer game or any other similar activity? I find I'm incapable of taping a game because I tend to get caught up in the action. Perhaps I can strap on a GoPro and simply watch the game as normal? Or is this crazy?

Thanks

A guy at work and myself got helmets, and we used to record our lunch time basketball games. It was so uncomfortable we eventually went to tripods and pole mounts. If I were to do it again, I would try the chest harness.

You could try that, and as long as you move slowly and follow the game, it might work.

I play indoor soccer (field is the size of a ice hockey rink) and I tried using my goPro. You have to put it either by the goals or far enough away from mid section to get the entire field. I had a goPro about 10 feet from the boards at mid field, and it didn't have enough view to capture the entire field.

Are you talking about setting it up with a wide angle lens so it can see the whole court?

I don't need to see the whole field, just the general area where action is taking place. I'm thinking the lens may be a bit wide but that shouldn't be a problem.
