Sen. Tom Coburn?s (R-Okla.) Chief of Staff: ?All Pornography Is Homosexual Pornography?

One of the final events of the Values Voter Summit was a Saturday breakout session on ?the new masculinity,? a wide-ranging topic that one speaker used to explain how any and all pornography could lead young people into homosexual lifestyles. That speaker was Sen. Tom Coburn?s (R-Okla.) chief of staff Michael Schwartz, a longtime conservative activist who has worked for the senator since 2005.

?Pornography is a blight,? Schwartz told an audience in a crowded room of the Omni Shoreham hotel. ?It is a disaster. It is one of those silent diseases in our society that we haven?t been able to overcome very well. Now, I may be getting politically incorrect here. And it?s been a few years, but not that many, since I was closely associated with pre-adolescent boys, boys around 10 years of age. But it is my observation that boys of that age have less tolerance for homosexuality than just about any other class of people. They speak badly about homosexuality. And that?s because they don?t want to be that way. They don?t want to fall into it.?

Schwartz told the crowd about Jim Johnson, a friend of his who turned an old hotel into a hospice for gay men dying of AIDS. ?One of the things he said to me,? said Schwartz, ?that I think is an astonishingly insightful remark? he said ?All pornography is homosexual pornography, because all pornography turns your sexual drive inwards.?

There were murmurs and gasps from the crowd. ?Now, think about that,? said Schwartz. ?And if you tell an 11-year-old boy about that, do you think he?s going to want to get a copy of Playboy? I?m pretty sure he?ll lose interest. That?s the last thing he wants! You know, that?s a good comment, it?s a good point, and it?s a good thing to teach young people.?

Wow...just wow. Turns out nearly every guy is gay. Brilliant thinking by the right-wing radicals who pulled over the Teabag Express for the Value Voters conference.

I'm sure he also implies that even looking at near porn, ie swimsuit ads, bikini pix, Maxim, etc is also gay because it creates "inward sexual drive," nevermind that inward drive is to nail hot chicks [tho perhaps that's not what he is thinking....] If not, where is the gay line? They should make a PSA. If I see a nip, is that gay? What about one just thru a wet swimsuit or tight shirt? Or do we need full bush, maybe some penetration? What about two chicks just making out? What about one of those beer ads where the chick is just holding a beer bottle upto her lips with that look that lets you know she really wishes it was a cock?
What if my wife/gf makes a homemade porno and I watch it..? Can a husband be gay for his wife? If I'm in it with the 36V dewalt, does that mean I'm gay for myself?:confused:

Considering this line of reasoning, I can see how the arabs manged to stuff all their women in burkas, lest they be temped by "inward sexual drive."

Teabaggers are much better off for 2010 if than can manage to just hold angry protests, and never, under any circumstance, calm down enough to talk about their own ideas,for anything, lest they be exposed for the raving idiots they still were under Bush and the last GOP congress.

I'm sure most if not all the Republicans in here agree.

Sadly people who hate themselves and that's everybody have a perverted need for other forms of satisfaction. We have a vacuum at the core of out being and one way we try to fill it is with sex. So, instead of sex being a cherry on the top of a wonderful cake called love, it becomes a disgusting lust for base pleasure. In this way, day by day, we further degrade our already enormously drained psyches, and then we boast about how sick we are because our sickness is so deep and pervasive that we imagine it to be normal. Watching porn is like shitting on your own head. Porn is produced by sad people who lack self respect and are acting as if they feel great so that moronic you, with your fantasy stimulated, can imagine these folk are having sex with you. What they are actually doing is perverting a sacred act for money that we, in our need, willingly give over. You are being fished and the worm is your dick. And after slobbering all over your selves you will jump on the forum here and argue with others about how rational you are. You don't buy a Santa in the sky but the lust of your sexual imagination puts the spaghetti monster to shame. Hehehehehehe

A staff member (pun probably intentional, not really sure) made the statement, not an elected official, not the GOP. I'm not really sure what's going to be "Epic" other than continued hatred between the two sides of the political fence, as if we don't already have enough of that :roll:

Bigoted conservatives that's scared of sex and porn is the reason we have so many depraved sex-maniacs in this world. When you portray sex as something dirty and awful and offensive that needs to be hidden away and never seen - especially by children - then dirty awful sex becomes the most coveted thing by perverts of every kind.

Nutso puritanistic conservative politicians and self-appointed "civil leaders" are exactly the kind of people who directly fuel rapists, pedo child kidnappers and other maniacs.

Yes, that makes perfect sense, without bigoted conservatives, there would be no pedo's or rapists in the world :roll: Idiot.

The US has always been nutty when it comes to sexuality (oh my God no, someone saw a nipple! A nipple! Oh, the horror!), and I think the puritanism / repression has an impact on things like teen pregnancy rates etc.

This is one complete loon making dumb statement... and that means "the GOP says"? :confused:

I didn't say there wouldn't be any, that was the most amateurish fail at a strawman I've seen in a good while.

Next time, please engage brain (if that's at all possible in your case) before typing, particulary if you're going to insult someone...

It's pretty well documented that compulsions - sexual or otherwise - are often created by strong suppressive social norms, and the suppressive norms against sexuality in the united states - typically fuelled by religiously motivated conservatism - is particulary strong. Hell, you can't even say fsck on TV without creating a stampede of irate viewers with torches and pitchforks calling in to complain, screaming bloody murder over an innocent word(although these days they probably file lawsuits instead...)

no, no... nothing to do w/ the GOP. This is only one of the gems coming out of the VALUES VOTER SUMMIT 2009, which has featured notable non-GOP speakers such as:

OPENING OF VALUES VOTER SUMMIT 2009 AND MORNING PLENARY SESSION - Regency Ballroom

* Welcome by Tony Perkins, President, FRC Action and Family Research Council (FRC)
* Representative Mike Pence (R-Ind.)
* Governor Mike Huckabee
* National Health Care Townhall with Q&A
o Senator Jim DeMint (R-S.C.)*
o Representative Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)
o Representative Tom Price (R-Ga.)
o Representative Chris Smith (R-NJ)
* Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
* Representative Eric Cantor (R-Va.)
* Former Miss California Carrie Prejean (Re: liberals are hypocrites for not tolerating my intolerance)
* Representative Roy Blunt (R-Mo.)
* Governor Mitt Romney
* House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio)
* Governor Rick Perry (R-Texas)
* Bill O'Reilly, Host, The O'Reilly Factor

What this is a sandbox to pitch ideas for the next social conservative wedge issue for 2010 and 2012.
Anti-gay stuff worked pretty well for GOP in 2004, obviously not ready to put that playbook away, but there are some other featured and Jesus approved segments.

The "Pr0n is gay" theory is from the lecture series:

THE NEW MASCULINITY - CONGRESSIONAL A
Dr. Pat Fagan, Senior Fellow and Director, Center for Family and Religion, FRC; Michael Schwartz, Chief of Staff, Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.); Dr. Matthew Spalding, Director, B. Kenneth Simon Center for Studies, The Heritage Foundation

Feminism has wreaked havoc on marriage, women, children and men. It is time to redress the disorder it has wrought and that must start with getting the principles and ideals for a new "masculinism" right. Such a "masculinism" will have its dovetailing counterpart in a new "feminism" for they mutually define each other and, in nature, are meant to be complementary. This panel will begin this exploration.

Also featured:
*SPEECHLESS - SILENCING THE CHRISTIANS - CONGRESSIONAL B
Casey Smith, Jr., Executive Assistant to the Chairman and President, American Family Association

*THUGOCRACY - FIGHTING THE VAST LEFT WING CONSPIRACY - EMPIRE ROOM
Terry Jeffrey, Editor, CNSNews.com; Michael Barone* (lol)

*GLOBAL WARMING HYSTERIA: THE NEW FACE OF THE "PRO-DEATH" AGENDA - CABINET ROOM
Dr. Calvin Beisner, National Spokesman, Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation

*TRUE TOLERANCE: COUNTERING THE HOMOSEXUAL AGENDA IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS - CONGRESSIONAL B
Candi Cushman--Education Analyst, Focus on the Family Action

*THE THREAT OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION - EMPIRE ROOM
The Honarable Corey Stewart, Chairman, Prince William Board of County Supervisors; Dr. Jim Edwards, Principal, MITA Group

*OBAMACARE: RATIONING YOUR LIFE AWAY - PALLADIAN ROOM

"Pr0n is gay" may have finally hit the crazy limit, and may not make the 2010 cut. Not only is it laughably stupid (not that that's stopped them before) but conservatives luv their pr0n.

I notice there's no more than two women in all of the names mentioned in Bitek's post.

Wow, imagine that. I wonder why? *rolls eyes*

Could it be that most women don't actually believe that they ought to be slaves to men's whims and desires?

I'm surprised one of the biggest hypocrites in this regard, Ann Coulter, was not included. She's long propagated for women returning to being chained at the stove in their kitchens - naturally not extending to herself obviously - she would hire a maid to do that kind of stuff!

Pathetic! :p

Its not just one guy in this case either. According to someone who was there, this really wowed the crowd and many people expressed interest in getting more information on this "phenomena".
