A 21st century version of Watergate?

FoxNews.com: Hacking Allegations...

WASHINGTON ? Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (search) said Tuesday he had put one of his staffers on administrative leave for improperly obtaining data from the secure computer networks of two Democratic senators.

Hatch, R-Utah, said preliminary interviews suggested that a former Republican member of the committee staff may have also been involved in penetrating the Democratic computers.

"I was shocked to learn that this may have occurred," Hatch said in a statement. "I am mortified that this improper, unethical and simply unacceptable breach of confidential files may have occurred on my watch."

<snip...>

Certainly sounds similar. Watergate was ok though, since it didn't compromis National Security, or so someone might feel.

I don't think Republicans know the first thing about 'ethics'.

Yep and who is it that, after being out raised in hard money donations is using loop holes in the campaign finance laws to get soft money donations. Oh thats right its the democrats, or hypcrats if you prefer.

Its kinda funny. The republicans bitched and moaned that campaign finance reform would hurt them more, but with Bush they have been able to raise twice as much hard money, and the democrats have to go and be hypocrits using loops holes in the laws the insisted upon, to raise soft money, for which they decried for years. The democrats are farked in the 2004 election.

Oh? And what "loopholes" is that? Show me proof.

The 'Hooters' party can raise more money because they've sold their souls to special interests. The democrats are raising money through more grassroot way, through the donations of ordinary peoples donation and through the help of organizations like moveon.org and Americans Coming Together.

Three words: America Coming Together

MoveOn.org seems to be quite independent, but there are a lot of Clintonites in ACT. Just because you change clothes, it doesn't change who you are.

Look, it's a loophole in the Feingold-McCain law. Everyone's using it. What's the big deal?
