I bet this was thrown together in a hurry. Traditional Republicans are going to spend four years playing flaming whack-a-mole.

Monumental disarray would be the kindest way I can think to describe the GOP on ACA repeal/replace. When it starts to fall down through executive actions and people loose coverage they're all going to turn on each other.

Considering that Republicans in Congress have had six years to dream up a better plan with no success, I would be surprised to see them have a fully-baked one now. That being said, some of the ideas they have called for are appealing to me, and if they can effect a genuine improvement, great.

Even if they did have a wonderful plan, which I doubt, it is pretty stupid to not have something in law and being implemented and THEN replace. As it is this is like planning to drive coast to coast and buying all the gas required at the very end. Things wouldn't go well with that either.

Meh. They're down with the "burn the village to save it" headset.

Repubs are ideologically opposed to people thinking they can depend on the govt of the people. We're supposed to depend entirely on the whims of Capitalism & the Jerb Creators who obviously aren't really dependable at all in this age of automation, offshoring & business consolidation. Their own actions have increased the need for the welfare state, not reduced it, but they'll be damned if they give up more of their own pile than absolutely necessary. They'll make us like India if they can.

From what I have read, it seems that repeal of any laws actually takes about 2 years. They can vote and effect the various repeals to parts of the ACA, but it takes about 2 years (I guess based on how some of these laws are intertwined with other policies) for that repeal to actually effect people and their insurance.

If pubs can manage to start working their new laws into the system and be ready, and they aren't simply the 1%er handouts that we all know they most certainly are, then good on them.

The GOP plan is to draft up something that garners some attention

Then they repeal or defund ACA (whatever which way they can say they killed Obamacare)

Then blame democrats when the "replace" bill(s) can't get through congress.

At this point, repeal the ACA, slash and fucking burn SS, Medicare, and Medicaid.

I have no more shits to give. The elderly and entitlement vote went overwhelmingly to Strongman Trump and the Republican party. It's about time they got the government they vote for over and over again.

Not that I want anyone to suffer, but if voters are going to continually vote to give the richest people in the solar system more money so they can loan it to Wall St. criminals to inflate bubbles while decimating the middle class for a higher ROI and short-term profit, let's just get it the fuck over with already.
