Well do you guys really think our Military will be less effective with homosexuals in it?

I can't find the poll anymore, but I remember seeing a poll where the majority of the men and women in the Military support homosexuals serving. If they don't have a problem with it, how the hell is it any of our business? Are we just trying to punish homosexuals?

It is a wedge issue to distract voters from the real problems going on. Don't think for a second that any of the candidates will serve, nor will immediate family members.

The GOP doesn't like gay people. They think that soldier isn't worthy to serve his country even if he speaks fluent Arabic and has experience in Middle Eastern culture.

Yeah, the part that's really sinister is that in an election year like this they really don't need wedge issues - they're just staying consistent in their bigotry so they can use it again in the future if they need to.

A Soldier is no less qualified then anyone else to serve just because he/she is gay. They should be able to serve their country proudly!
