Vote for Dems, get another 9/11. Dems are unpatriotic and will get people killed. This was the basic message of the GOP for years, and I have yet to see anything by the Dems that is similar.

Vote for Democrats, we will give you other peoples money!

Ya, because the Democrats don't play on peoples emotions

I think it is interesting how the OP claims that the GOP sells nothing but fear yet the last two events of domestic terrorism was carried out by "progressives".

You still calling that tax dodging nut a progressive?

And of course Timothy Mcveigh was an obvious liberal progressive over their shooting towel heads.

Do you even know what reality is besides a genre of TV shows?

What you're missing is that the Democrats would, if necessary, stoop to using events like 9/11 to further their agenda if given the chance. That is my speculation.

Hey this fixing stuff is fun. Wheeee! I can only imagine what you'd be saying were someone blaming Repubs for things they hadn't done, then calling it a point. You don't like the Dems. I get it.

I don't like either party. I also am not naive enough to think that the Democrats wouldn't stoop to the same tricks had they been in power at the time of 9/11. If you want to speculate that your heroic Democrats wouldn't, that's your opinion. My opinion is different.

Vote for Repubs, get into more wars! Repubs are evil corporate servants and will let people die rather than help them. This was the basic message of the Democrats for years.

You're right, fixing is fun! See how that works? Here is what it should read:

Vote for Repubs or Dems, and enjoy the status quo! Repubs and Dems are owned by corporations and only want to enrich themselves and their corporate pals!

I like how you support your first speculation with another speculation. Niiice. I can't commend you on the naivete though, as I think more than a little is involved (with a side of chutzpah) if you are claiming to know who my heroes are.

Tell you what, how about you just speak for yourself? The "I know what they/you really think" bit is beyond lame.

That was their message while they cheerfully committed treason, murder, torture and other war crimes and crimes against humanity. Their message, then, was lies and fear.

Their message, now, remains the same. They're still the same fear-mongering liars, and wannabe traitors, torturers and war criminals.

Says the person who said "I know you don't like Democrats" as if he knew what I thought.

They are all a disgrace to the United States of America. And by ALL, I mean politicians. I am completely and thoroughly embarrassed by all of them.

You've been casting scorn their way the whole time in a thread not about them. If it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck... I know selective comprehension of others' posts is all the rage here, but that doesn't mean I have to play along. You'd have a point if I were the one trying to tell you who your heroes were.

No wait, my bad - the unflattering speculation on Dems and the thorough embarrassment you suffer really is just a sign of your affinity for them. My apologies.

The remark was tongue-in-cheek. I have bashed both parties repeatedly. Your ridiculous assertion that "both parties use FUD, but the Republicans are worse!" is what I commented on in this specific thread as did many others. Several posters posted FUD spread by the Democrats that was just as bad and damaging as the Republicans. Yet you ignore it.

Now if you want to put the FUD argument aside for a moment and discuss actions this decade, I'm sure we're in agreement about the damage the Republicans have caused. Iraq was a travesty and the war that was just, Afghanistan, suffered from neglect as a result.

No wait, my bad - the unflattering speculation on Dems and the thorough embarrassment you suffer really is just a sign of your affinity for them. My apologies.

You're a real comedian, except without the comedy. Unflattering speculation? OK, I'll agree I speculated. Please review the numerous examples of FUD provided by others in this very thread. I can't tell you the number of times I've heard "Republicans are evil and are corporate servants" or "Republicans want to eliminate SS and let the elderly starve" or "Elect Republicans and we'll be in more wars." I especially loved all the speculation from members of the left that Bush was going to invade Iran and was preparing for it the year before he left office. And let's not forget the classic "500 million jobs will be lost if we don't pass this stimulus."

Thorough embarrassment? I suffer from no embarrassment at all. The only people who should be embarrassed are the 535 people sitting in Congress for their dismal efforts. The only thing I suffer from is a high degree of cynicism for all things political and seeing people blindly follow political ideologies. Maybe I'm wrong -- in fact, I HOPE I'm wrong. I would love for someone to prove me wrong and show me that most politicans have our interests at heart and are doing what is best for us. That is one time I would LOVE to be wrong and would gladly accept it. :)
