http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/...ey-warns-you-might-get-Ebola-from-immigrants#

Some of the child refugees streaming across the southern border into the United States might carry deadly diseases. "Reports of illegal immigrants carrying deadly diseases such as swine flu, dengue fever, Ebola virus and tuberculosis are particularly concerning," Gingrey wrote. "Many of the children who are coming across the border also lack basic vaccinations such as those to prevent chicken pox or measles."

So, according to our dear friend from the Grand Old Party, a disease from Africa has gotten in, from Central America.

This is yet another example of a defective minded conservative, who is spreading false information, to vilify people he does not like and deems a threat.

Some other links, since the original seems to contain the Ebola virus itself,..

Leave Ebola off the list and there's still plenty of health reasons not to have an uncontrolled border.

Not that regular travel between countries would stop the spread of disease. The greater story is the condition of our "holding facilities", aka refugee camps.

Reality is that yes - ebola clearly is NOT an issue. But, all the rest of that shit is. And, this gentleman's concern is quite legitimate, again, barring the inclusion of ebola.

However, for this buffoon to lump in a disease from the other side of the fucking planet is a testament to his alarmist and false sensationalism, to simply strike fear into the American people. Ebola,.. from Central America? Really?

Also, this is from a letter he sent to the CDC. If this was on live TV, yes, he can state; "well, ah,.. hur dur dur,.. didn't do mah fact checkin,.. ahn wot naught,.. hur dur dur". Instead, it was a written and planned letter. He had plenty of opportunities to fact check and make sure he didn't show his true intent. Instead, he quickly wanted to paint illegals are ebola carrying hordes, ready to decent upon America and infect us with their,.. you know,.. immigrantisms.

OH TEH EVILS OF IMMIGRANTS!!

Here is ANOTHER republican congress man, on the evils of Mexican children carrying ebola,...

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/republican-congressman-immigrant-children-might-carry-ebola/

Speaking with an Indianapolis radio station, Rep. Todd Rokita, R-Ind., cited heart surgeon and Rep. Larry Bucshon, R-Ind., as a sage authority on the subject: "He said, look, we need to know just from a public-health standpoint, with Ebola circulating and everything else," Rokita said. "No, that's my addition to it, not necessarily his - but he said we need to know the condition of these kids."

No human has ever contracted the deadly illness in the Western Hemisphere. Still, staying vigilant amid the worst outbreak of Ebola in history, the Office of Refugee Resettlement assured the Times of Northwest Indiana that every one of the 30,000-some undocumented children who are placed with U.S. family members has been screened for medical maladies.

Whoa.

I think one of you apologist should reach out to these guys and tell them to nix the ebola = Mexican immigrants points... I mean, you can't defend this point.

Ebola is from African.

The refugees flooding our borders are from Central America.

Look,.. you can even send them this map.

Well, they gotta keep the faithful frothed up for the election, after all, and they don't want to fade in the stretch.

Birtherism? Fast & Furious? Benghazi? IRS? PPACA? Voter Fraud?

All Losers. But hatin' on brown people never goes out of style among their target audience, so they'll put that whore in a different dress, new lipstick, put her right out on the corner. She doesn't do sex any more, just lures the chumps into a motel room to be robbed by thugs. New dress fools 'em every time. They rob the same chumps over & over again.

you on the left are so dumb.

if illegals from CHINA can cross the mexico border, its entirely possible that people from Africa can as well

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/23/us/23smuggle.html

Please realistically explain how someone who is slightly wealthier than a North Korean but more poor than dirt is going to get from Liberia to Mexico then cross the US boarder before Ebola makes him so sick that he cannot move?

Yeh, but it'd be different if brown people came from Canada. Then they'd all be diseased.

Canada and the U.S. share pretty much identical list of diseases that citizens might be exposed too. A set of immunizations isn't required to travel between the two.

However, the same does not apply to many countries in South America.

And botfly larvae.

But bringing up brown people and thus racism makes so much more sense.

Pitching to latent racist sentiment is easy, simply because it's a blind spot for people. Few people want to be racists, but lots of people harbor minor racist sentiment. OTOH, they haven't looked at themselves closely enough to see it. They want to believe it's not there.

It means that well formulated propaganda can reach past their cognitive defenses and affect their emotional center.

Why else create the absurdity of ebola from central America than to exploit that?

Drag the illegal immigrant issue to the front w/ fearmongering, tack another negative marker on them, discuss how it's all Obama's fault, anyway.

I mean, he's not doing anything to stop ebola coming in with illegals from Guatemala, is he?

Am I missing something here? All I see is one Republican, Rep. Phil Gingrey of Georgia. I guess that is enough to get a circle jerk going.?

Just don't let those children give you a blood transfusion or lick your face. Also don't roll around in El Paso feces. If you catch ebola it's Obama's fault. A no-brainer there, everything being Obama's fault. Also, if you've been reading the Drudge Report, please wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. And don't panic. As Americans we can all get through this together.

You learn to read. He didn't say what you think he said, or more like what you and the author of that article wanted him to say. Even if he did, that's 2. Just like the other thread 2 people do not represent the entire GOP.

No. YOU learn to read.

:colbert:

In all seriousness though - the GOP is a joke. I am convinced they get kick backs from The Daily Show to just spew stupid shit like this. Come on - ebola,.. from Central America?? You find NOTHING wrong with what these two idiots said??
