No. YOU learn to read.

:colbert:

In all seriousness though - the GOP is a joke. I am convinced they get kick backs from The Daily Show to just spew stupid shit like this. Come on - ebola,.. from Central America?? You find NOTHING wrong with what these two idiots said??

That same 'joke' is being told on the other side of the isle.

What has Biden done to offend you?

Don't waste you breath. They don't provide proof,.. or, in Boomerang's case, provide false "proof" and then lose their shit when called out on it.

Don't expect any answers; the Right never was a fan of science, figures and facts. Just use boogieman scare tactics, dismissive "nu-uhs", calls for censorship and refuting, refuting, refuting!!

They are a defective lot.

edit: Right, not Left.

According to who - rejects like yourself??

Is there a media empire based on liberal political buffoonery? What, Jon Stewart makes one joke every few weeks towards teh libruls and suddenly we are owned?

Please.

The GOP is literally a joke. It is the source material for every satire out there - the Simpsons, The Daily Show, etc. And, "news" stations like Fox News further sensasionalize the frenzy by keeping their views tied to the screen with blurbs, followed by flashing lights, SCARY sounds and alerts.

You are shackled by your own fear - liberals poke fun at you, while conservatives like Rupert Murdoch rake in the big cash.

It is so sad.

Another conservatard who can't read,.. not surprising, since proper reading requires that fancy emaducation and all.

Re-read the OP - it was 2, not 1.

Oh, crap,.. numbers! Sorry for throwing so much at your defective brain! But, please try to keep up if will want to participate with the rest of the civilized world.

Biden doesn't offend me in any way. He makes a lot of gaffe's which is exactly what Newell has got his panties in a big twist about. He cites two examples of Repub's using some hyperbole and draws the conclusion that every Republican is thinking the exact same way and extrapolates from there. It's beyond stupid. It's not even remotely rational thinking. The thread was conceived in juvenile lunacy. If I thought it worth the effort I'd report the thread title to score a point. But it wouldn't be changed anyway.

Yeah, again - nothing. Just general statements, no proof. Oh, but, when I do it,.. I should be reported. Even when I provide links and proofs (from various sources) - not like I tell you to just Google it to find out what I am posting out,...

Yup,.. nothing wrong or demented or defective with that thinking.

There are 279 R's in Congress; 2 or 1, his point is still valid. Now if the article quoted 20 mentioning ebola, etc... you may have something there. As it is, not so much.

THEY'RE ALL MAKING IT UP!!!!!! lol. Reality. It's a bitch for "conservatives".

Excuse me... have you been to the border to test these children yourself... while ebola is not an issue... They are not making ALL of this up and it is well known that in countries where health care is virtually non-existent that people indeed are sick and have/carry many diseases, some of them just carriers as their people have adapted; but our nation has not... and that is worth keeping in mind as we are shipping them to various places across our country.

I guess we should just pack it up seeing as how Simpsons and The Daily Show make fun of us.

What diseases do you think people elsewhere have adapted to in order to become "just carriers"? Be specific.

What you offer does remind me of Libertopian lunacy, for sure. We now have West Nile Virus in this country, apparently thanks to exotic bird smuggling. It's often lethal. It's here to stay, too, like fire ants & kudzu. Just think of all the other lovely pathogens & invasive species that could be readily imported in their sacred free market world.

A lot of diseases come in through our southern border. Probably not Ebolla, as any African illegal immigrant with the money to travel to Mexico and pay a coyote to smuggle him in could easily fly into America and simply not leave. (It's possible such a person could be on a "do not admit" list and have to sneak in through the southern border; I'm discounting that since the odds of someone being both Ebola-infected and barred from entry seem remote.) Long persistence diseases like tuberculosis are the biggest threat. However, we're now seeing outbreaks of new varieties of measles due to illegal immigrants, varieties on which our vaccines are ineffective. I have a friend whose niece was hospitalized for two weeks this summer and when the culprit was finally identified, it's a strain of measles common in South America (Peru IIRC) which is sufficiently genetically different from our vaccination strains as to make vaccination useless.

Your "Libertopian lunacy" reflects merely your own psychosis though. West Nile can easily be introduced via puddles of water on ships (especially container ships) or by infected persons traveling quite legally. (I'm specifically leaving out the most obvious vector, migratory birds, since you probably feel that governmental failure to regulate migratory fowl movement is due solely to the GOP and libertarians.) Fire ants came in with legitimate shipments through the Mobile port; they still do. And the federal government spent more than a decade fucking PAYING people to plant kudzu, in spite of the fact that its morphology is easily seen to be extremely poorly suited for preventing erosion, its nominal purpose. Indeed, kudzu covered and killed out existing native flora much more suited for erosion control - and the vast majority of it was intentionally planted by government action.

As far as Ebola goes, I'd be more worried people traveling via air would spread it yes.

And apparently the current epidemic over there is far worse than has been let out.

Just saying.

Name a species of bird that migrates from Africa to the New world. Oh, and one that gets there faster than the virus kills the bird, which is 4-5 days.

You first link puts illegal importation of infected birds at the top of the list, btw.

Oh, and our govt was and remains more libertopian than many would like. witness Florida-

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/...ey-warns-you-might-get-Ebola-from-immigrants#

So, according to our dear friend from the Grand Old Party, a disease from Africa has gotten in, from Central America.

This is yet another example of a defective minded conservative, who is spreading false information, to vilify people he does not like and deems a threat.

EDIT:
Some other links, since the original seems to contain the Ebola virus itself,..

EDIT#2:
ANOTHER GOP - posted further down in this thread,.. but, here it is; http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=36605527&postcount=8

EDIT#3:
A purdy cartoon;
HXddjTZ.jpg

He said there are reports of illegal immigrants bringing in ebola.

He may be correct. I only have time for one quick google and saw this:

Deadly Ebola hemorrhagic fever is raging out of control in multiple countries in West Africa. Border Patrol agents confirmed that West Africans have been apprehended coming via Mexico into the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, with a number of seriously ill individuals whisked away to undisclosed locations for treatment of undisclosed illnesses. ABC News reported in mid-July that seriously ill illegals were flown from Texas to Ventura Naval base recently with high fever, respiratory difficulties, and coughing blood. At least three required ICU admission. No information was released on what illness was diagnosed, but the time course, severity of symptoms, and need for immediate ICU treatment is not typical for tuberculosis and more consistent with Ebola or hemorrhagic forms of dengue fever.

I have no idea if the source is any good (and no time to look further atm), but at the very least the Congressperson is correct. There are "reports".

So, uhh, one guy lies & the second one swears to it, making it true throughout the right wing echo chamber. It's what they want to believe, so anything more than a hint makes 'em into believers.

Anonymous border patrol agents? Really?

The greater shearwater. Albatrosses also tend to be world travelers. But in any case, a bird doesn't have to travel from Africa to carry an African disease, it merely has to come into contact with another bird carrying the disease in an area with mosquitos.

As far as birds being killed in 4 - 5 days, that's pure speculation as West Nile life cycle in birds is hardly a well-studied phenomenon. Not to mention that transmission is indirect, from bird to mosquito to bird, rather than bird to bird. Thus one sick bird hanging around can indirectly infect many other birds who continue the migration.

Heh. If Shearwaters carried West Nile, it would have been endemic to the Americas long ago. Obviously not.

And Fern drops to a new low for trying to defend someone. And that is saying something, given his posting history or outright lying about facts.

Fern's logic: one person says anything, it must be possible and credible, so it's OK.

I think Fern needs to go work for Fox News, his concept of "facts" fits in well. It's truly sad that a moderator can lie this blatantly.

One suggestion however: OP's new nickname is Cleveland Steamer

Reports can be wrong and still be extant. Surely there are some reports about Mr/Ms Manning that you argue are false while recognizing their existence - a fact one might almost call necessary to argue inaccuracy.
