Trump's speech focused on doom and gloom.

Obama said that the reality is Americans are doing pretty good.

http://www.cnn.com/2016/07/22/politics/obama-mexico-press-conference-trump-convention/index.html

Trump outright lied about the crime in America. The national homicide rate has been in a steep decline for years. It's not going up. It's going down! The ISIS threat is also over exaggerated.

You will die from diabetes, heart disease, car accident, or cancer before you will from a bad guy.

Why would Trump focus on the doom and gloom of America? Because he needs people scared and afraid. Only he can fix America. Only Trump can bring America back to the glory days. Politicians are really good at creating scarcity. The immigrants are stealing your jobs! It's their fault your life sucks.

The world is rapidly changing and will continue to change. We are going thru a period of massive disruption. All sectors in America are being disrupted. Trump isn't going to be able to stop it. He can try to isolate America, and I'm sure his fans would love that. But, at the end of the day we are a global community. You either adapt to this new economy or you'll go thru massive pain.

Trump is a snake oil salesman. Can't sell you snake oil unless you are convinced you are sick.

Because conservatives are naturally afraid. I thought his speech was sad from that perspective all that was offered was fear and that somehow magic was going to happen to fix those issues we supposedly live in fear of.

Regarding thread title, I was under the impression the only thing Trump wanted to nail was his daughter?

hahahaaa so predictable, drumpf bumps up a bit and here's old speedy to glower and gloat. So glad I was working too much to give a shit about that dumpster fire called a convention, and the same can be said for the dem's convention.
a staggering waste of money and time, all the while spending that time patting yourself on the back with one hand and maniacally pointing at the other party with other hand.

You've been watching Joe through the primaries and have heard his interactions with Trump?

It was exactly the speech a bunch of pussies and losers would want to hear.

"Don't worry Bradley, Daddy Trump will get your lunch money back from those awful dirty Mexicans. I'll make all the mean people go away. I'll burn down their houses and shoot their dogs and then they'll be sorry they ever messed with you."

Very very VERY odd...
Trump on the TV stations this morning saying thanks and good bye after the convention end.
Trump actually talking about losing to Hillary.
THAT was really weird....

Not the typical Trump, nope, Trump entertaining the possibility he could lose.
Which I wonder if Trump now actually hopes will happen?
Has Trump achieved his goal? Reached his peak?
Is that all that Trump wanted? To become the republican nominee with everyone cheering and the balloons falling?
Could it be this all the further Donald wants to go?
I believe it is.

What is next for Donald would be a cage in the oval office.
Caged like a wild animal.
I think Trump misses his loose rich lifestyle of helicopters, golf, luxury buildings, and playing the top guy.
If Trump is elected, Donald knows that would mean living in some old tacky timeshare government building environment.
Tacky, compared to what Donald was use to.
No more Trump logo-ed helicopters. No more flying off on a whim. No more Trump Towers, Trump steaks, and gold plated trump elevators.
Not at least for 4 years. BUMMER!!!!

I just can not imagine Trump as a happy camper, sitting in some old boring oval office, day in and day out, when there are buildings to be built and deals to be made.
All over this big beautiful world at Trump's finger tips.
And we all know that Donald would keep a daily tally as to all the money he would be losing while bored and disengaging from the fun exciting world of Donald Trump.
Donald's true life blood. The reason Donald wakes up in the morning.

I have this feeling Trump has hit his peak and he suddenly realized that.
For Donald, everything from now on is all down hill.
After all, this major downsizing is not in Donald Trump's nature.
The "fun" was all in the hunt. And the hunt is now over.
17 heads hanging on Donald's wall, and every one of them well earned.

The nice red, white and blue balloons, all the happy republicans showing their love, his family saying all the right things to the crowd, Trump's ego flex, all that has come to an end.
Trump has a choice, a big decision facing him.

Does Donald really really want to confine himself for 4 long years in some round little oval office, flying only on government planes, shuttled around in bland tacky government vehicles, and sleeping at night with a government dial-telephone right next to his ear that could ring at any time with some irritating world nonsense waking him up and demanding his attention?
Does Donald really want to trade his charmed life for the drudgery of government service?
I DON'T THINK SO.
No, ever since the convention, ever since reaching his peak, Donald seems a little depressed.
Grateful, but knowing all too well the fun has ended.

Will Donald decide to give up his charmed life for government impound?
Or blow the election and go back to his life in Trump paradise.
With his ego now fully inflated to the point of bursting, all that Donald really ever wanted, what will Donald do next?

Donald has a decision to make.
Return back to building his high rise glass and gold structures, designing luxary golf courses, feeling foot lose and fancy free?
Or.... accept the drudgery of government service day in and day out for 4 long years to come?
What to do. What to do.

Honestly it wasn't a horrible speech. His facts were off but I'm sure some of Hillary's will be off too.
There was a lot of negative, Trump is fear selling which has its place in the sales process but too much fear selling just means you're a lazy salesperson who has trouble over coming objections.

Hey, it worked for brexit, right? I'm somewhat convinced that he might actually pull off this election, even if a lot of folks stay home. I think it will be like 2000, with a narrow margin of victory and one candidate winning the popular vote while the other wins the election.

Both links are from January, mine are from June/July. Owned again. Sorry bro.

You either have no idea what that word you're so fond of using means, or you're just a troll. Maybe both. Every village needs an idiot.

By most accounts it was one of the most long winded concession speeches in recorded history...
