Facts exist independently of my ability or desire to produce them on demand. If your request for facts was reasonable, I might oblige. It's obviously not. Indeed, the intent of the request was to be unreasonable. That makes you a douchebag. It makes you an even bigger douchebag because you knew you were wrong up front but made the request anyway.

Lots of text that translates to "I can't back it up". It was only unreasonable in your mind because you know it's not true. But keep trying to act like it's some personal principle that is preventing you from it. I think it's kind of cute.

You know what? You're right. It's a perfectly reasonable request for me to publish an exhaustive study of all single-payer healthcare systems and their impact on national economics to support a comment made on an internet forum. Nothing about that request could possibly seem unreasonable to any reasonable person. Nothing.

I take it you are an expert in health care systems or an actuary in the field. Pray tell, how did you come to your analysis?

And their responsibility, which is your life. Of course that has nothing to do with the 30-40% figure you pull out from your studies, but being an expert in the field you must know that.

Do you know what the wrapped in cost of medical billing are ?

30-40% include billing costs and profit to underwriters.but thats reality not some made up bullshit some right winger wants you to swallow. the best way to reform the healthcare system is to discourage insurance companies from insuring and to create co-ops where private citizens form care groups and hire docotrs and provide facility. Billing is a HUGE cost on the system.

Get educated on the issues of where costs come from. I don't begrudge the doctors, its all the bullshit they must deal with as doctors and the entrained costs that are driving up rates.

From the OP-

Republican Andy Harris, an anesthesiologist who defeated freshman Democrat Frank Kratovil on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, reacted incredulously when informed that federal law mandated that his government-subsidized health care policy would take effect on Feb. 1 – 28 days after his Jan. 3rd swearing-in.

Yes, I read that as I said. My question is what is the specific federal law that mandates his health insurance doesn't start for 28 days? I'd just rather find out about this mystery law for myself rather than take someone's word for it.

According to the FEHB guide book:

For new or newly eligible employees who elect to enroll, coverage will be effective on the first day of the first pay period that begins after your agency receives your enrollment. An Open Season enrollment or change is effective on the first day of the first full pay period that begins in January.

Thats civil service, hes an elected member.
There’s Civil, Excepted, contractor, political appointment, and elected member.

I have never done paper work on a elected or political appointment person so not sure where to find their rules, but I know many are different.
