I finally got the Multimedia 7.0 up on Windows 2k. With TV and everything. :D So I am hanging up the 98 cd for retirement and moving on!

Good for you LOB, but Win98SE hasn't given me any reasons for wanting to change so I'm sticking with what I've got for awhile:)

I`m one of the few still using Win98 OS1,but it`s rock stable on my rig, anyway I hope to bypass Win2000 since I don`t want to give my money to Bill Gates on every OS that comes out & I shall probably go with Whistler if it`s any good.

:)

Welcome to the best OS MS has ever created. Glad you decided to give up the toys and become a real man. :D

Do games run as well on Win2K? I've always been scared to try though it's running my wife's computer stable as a rock -- been going for about 30 days on its current run without interruption or reboot.

I'm ready to can W2K and go completely back to '98! 2K is slow as hell compared to '98. On my machine '98 is every bit as stable as 2k is....without the hassle of wondering what works and what doesn't.

BTW, I'm using different harddrives with both OSs on the first partition of both. '98 OCs much better. W2k is only slightly more stable, but at the expense of speed...no ATA66 or 100 support, and every game runs much better in '98.....OK..so you need to reboot a couple of times a day...I'm waiting for SP2 to decide for sure....

Be there, done that....I'm back using NT 4.0 server which is waaaay faster than windows 2000.

NT 4.0 Server runs 23MB out of 256MB

Windows 2000 runs 35-40MB out of 256MB.
