How are you guys doing this morning? I plan on having a very productive day, and fun night. Gonna get some chores in early, do some laundry, go sprinting down on Harvard's track, get some groceries and run some errands. How about you guys? What're ya'all up to?

I feel like I'm getting a cold. My lungs feel like I smoked a couple packs of cigarettes last night, but I didn't smoke anything. Also, I've only slept for about an hour, and I'm wired. I expect to crash some time today, so I'll be sleeping.

Been up a few hours, looking to get any outside stuff done early before the temps soar to mid 90s w/ high humidity.

I woke up early to check on my very first batch of mead. I brewed it yesterday and it's now fermenting rapidly. I used 4 gallons water and 24 pounds clover honey. Original gravity ~1.15. This is gonna be some strong shit.

Soon I am going to Menards to buy some 12/2 cable so I can finish up wiring for my home theater, then a friend and I are planning to finish up with hanging drywall.

Once beer oclock comes, we will cease being productive.

We're enclosing a portion of the car port. Today I'll be installing plywood under the eves, demolishing the old car port wall, and starting on framing.

Okay, plywood is up, still need to caulk and paint it. Next up: removing the half wall.

Fed the neighbors dog, plan to put a second coat of paint on the bathroom cabinets, then off to buy some tile to redo the floor (already stripped.)

Might catch Inception this afternoon, when it's 100F+ outside, then tile this evening when it cools off a bit.

I just reinstalled Windows cuz I got a malware so bad it kept me from accessing the interwebs. And my system restore point didnt help at all.
Good thing is with a SSD installing Windows 7 is so freaking fast its awesome. And I noticed I can do a lot more with a fresh install of 7 than XP. And when I update software and shit, I dont need to reboot as often. Already I got all my stuff up and running, except Office.

Half wall is gone. Took longer than expected, better made than I thought. Now I'm starting the framing. I get to use my new hammer drill!

Blueberry whole wheat pancakes and a fresh pot of coffee. I may be in danger of waking up any minute now.

Have my company picnic today at the park down the street. Free beer, free food, and a bunch of games to keep my kid entertained. Hopefully I can win another door prize this time around.

What's so fucking good about it?

Woke up with a screaming headache to the neighbor's dog whining...again. I think they're dogsitting for a friend...yesterday morning, I heard the sound of a "panicky" bark/whine...I looked over the fence and the dog was in their pool and couldn't get out. In retrospect, I shoulda let it drown instead of beating on their door until they got up.
The temps are supposed to be 100 again today, so if I want to mow the lawn, I'm gonna be sweating my ass off while I get it done. (sprinklers make the grass too wet to cut early in the a.m.)

So...once again...What's so fucking good about the morning?

One wall is framed out and the frame painted. I'll work on the second wall tomorrow. I forgot to paint under the eves so I'll have to do that when I finish the second wall. This is going to be a enclosed blacksmith shop with perforated steel screens for the walls so the air can get in and the forge heat out. This time I took the perforated steel to be powder coated. The first time I used it (below) I primed and painted it myself. It took longer to prep the screen than it did to build the frame.

Sort of like this, but with a concrete floor and w/o the shelves attached to the cross members:
