Well, not quite. It's actually $465.66, which means Google now has a price to earnings ratio in excess of 100 (usually an enormous red flag) and a market capitalization larger than that of IBM ($137.62B vs. $134.18B). But I'm sure the stock price accurately reflects the company's performance. ;)

many are predicting a crash this year for google.

Its gonna be crazy if google fudge numbers. seriously they are making a whole lot of money with almost zero diversification in their earnings.

I"m amazed some people think they can continue to grow and somehow overtake microsoft in terms montetary power without really looking for others sources of money. the whole ads thing can only go so far. from a quick look of things for 2005 they are pretty close to doubling gross profit compared to last year.

Am I the only one who feels it maybe TOO good.

Google may be overvalued but shorts are getting what they deserve. I shake my head everytime I read about someone dumb enough to short stock like this thinking they can predict the top. I've seen people here recommending shorting GOOG when it was in the $100s, 200s, 300s, and now 400s. Shorting a stock in uptrend is sure way to the poor house. Remember trend is your friend and Wall Street is ruled by the herd.

Considering all the click fraud Google is ignoring (2 recent threads on it here) the massive growth in paid click revenue is just not sustainable.

But no one knows how much longer the stock will climb before the crash. This is why I relax and just buy mutual funds.

Three days after Google Video goes public, it'll drop by at least 50 in a day.

Google's single share price may be expensive but nothing in the US is going to approach Berkshire Hathaway's Class A share price. Both company's marketcaps are similar but single share price of Buffett's BRKA is $89,500.

Of course I still remember when Yahoo of Japan share price was over 1 million dollars each. That's too many yens.

if google had an OS of only 1.5 million it would also be that expensive. its all relative.

That's the point I was trying to make. So many beginning investors and people on this board seem amazed at stock price and don't look at the marketcap and outstanding shares. Same with stock price movements. Look at the percentage of move, not the share price amount.
