Google's "Inbox" thing

I just tried it out. I don't like it. I like email to be a simple list. A friend who works at google invited me.

I like it. The snooze is especially nice. Deleting is more steps than it should but i get it, google doesn't want you to delete but archive.

I wish they had the setting of swiping 1 way for delete and 1 way to mark as "done" aka archive.

Can we make a seperate thread for invites? I hate it when the topic goes to crap because a bunch of people can't wait a week or two.

Is Done = Archive? I'm ok with that they're fundamentally changing how email works from a linear list, but when you mix up terminology, that gets annoying.

Done is archive, and I completely get why they changed the name in Inbox. I would never archive things in Gmail, it was either mark as read or delete. I think for the everyday user, "Done" makes more sense than "archive" especially with how Inbox is being presented as more of a to-do list and general notifier than just email.

Just got it. It's... interesting. Still doesn't let me add my flight automatically to my calendar. Now you can see reminders, but those are only Google Now reminders. Keep reminders are still something different and Calendar is something totally different.

I feel like they need to tie reminders into the calendar somehow better. It just sounds like fragmentation--kinda like how Google+ Messenger, Gchat, and Voice once were (and still are to an extent)

Use the Feedback Tool built in Inbox to let them know. The more Feedback the more they will fix, add and so forth. 😉

I've got two inbox invites I can give out. PM me and I'll send it your way, I'll need your gmail address of course.

One left now.

Both have been shared. I'll post up if I get more to share.

Tested it with my Google Apps For Business account, doesn't work. Get this error "your organization isn't set up for inbox yet" and their FAQ shows it only works for personal accounts... no way to add it yet via Admin Console, either. 🙁

Oh well, enabled it on my secondary Gmail account, to play around with it. I don't have an Android device on me currently so I used Blue Stacks to download the app, and now I'm getting the web app/extension for Chrome. 🙂

EDIT: Pretty neat. I like the clean, Material design look. Setting up some bundles now.

You can access Inbox in the Chrome browser itself without a 3rd party Android App in Chrome: http://www.omgchrome.com/google-inbox-chrome-extension-web-app/

Inbox is currently on iOS and Android and on Desktop with the Chrome browser.

They said they plan to offer other E-mail account support in Inbox as well as support for other Browsers in the future.

Right now it's only personal Gmail accounts and by invites as this is of course a beta product. 😉

I'd like an invite.... 🙂 Please.

I can't wait to try this. Someone should make a spreadsheet, so the thread doesn't get flooded with invite requests like this one!!!:whiste:

Would love to get an invite if someone is willing to share please, in return I'll spread the invite I get with others. Thanks in advance
