+ A Spanish translation (es-ES) has been added.
+ All of the Google Links in the Googlebar Lite main menu can now be opened in a new tab. To open them in a new tab, simply middle click or Ctrl+click the desired menu item.
+ The toolbar's name has been changed from "Googlebar Lite" to "Googlebar Lite Toolbar".
+ The main menu icon (Googlebar Lite logo) has been enlarged.
+ The logo in the about dialog has been enlarged (from 32x32 to 48x48).
+ Registered style sheet renamed to gbl_overlay.css.
+ Bug Fix: Overflowed search word buttons now show their respective highlight colors (when highlighting is turned on).
+ Bug Fix: Several duplicate strings have been consolidated into one to reduce file size.

Googlebar Lite Documentation

What is Googlebar Lite?
Googlebar Lite is a light-weight replacement for the Googlebar, and is written exclusively for the Firefox web browser. This toolbar aims to replicate the basic functionality of the official Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer.

Doesn't the other Googlebar already do all of this?
Yes it does. My goal in writing Googlebar Lite was to minimize the bloat in Googlebar, focusing on only the most common features. In my opinion, the Googlebar is a new user's nitemare. The toolbar's default options are poorly chosen, and it has seemingly become a tangled mess of options and features. Googlebar Lite aims to fix this problem by offering sensible defaults and only a few search options.

i like it.

it works well and it's a lot more streamlined than the regular googlebar.

will this extension support Auto-complete in the future? i loved that feature on IE's google toolbar.

Nice. I like your image search button (camera) better than the one on the google bar that I downloaded the other day.

Thanks for the comments guys. It's nice to see people enjoy it.

GuybrushThreepwood: Auto-completion is a great idea. I will certainly consider adding it to future releases!

Looks nice. I like the visual selection of the toolbar icons. Im in for a try. Keep up the good work.

Now if you could just clone the Opera "Wand" we could have the best browser on earth by a mile.

Maybe button for pop-up blocker enable/disable? I know, I know... Streamlined/efficient 🙂.

Yes, clone everyone opera does, that's the only way. Wait, then firefox would just be a clone of the best.

Just a quick note that keyboard accelerators have been added in the latest build. This was an oft-requested feature. 🙂

0.4.83 is now available, but make sure that you uninstall any previous versions. If you don't, Firefox may stop responding (and extensions will fail to load). This is due to the overlay file name changing.

Version 0.9 is now available. Tons of things have been added since I last posted here (I've forgotten to update this post for some time).

Version 1.0 is now available. New features include a customizable context menu, automatic updates, better preference handling, and several bug fixes.
