When Google takes over, the intersne will be nothing more than a relentless deployment of sucky ads just like network television.

That said, I have a Googlicious idea for them. How do I go about finding someone at Google to pitch it to?

An ultimate goal of the firm is to deliver completely individualized ads to users.

And that will be a turning point where people will start to hate Google. It 'will' happen.

Personally I see that it's quite possible that they'll grab a 'Nix distro, take it apart and put it back together googleised. Whilst it wont hit M$ in the enterprise world, it could make a dent in the desktops if reasonably priced, although I probably wont use such an OS unless it's mainstream and my job requires it. :p

edit: btw, sonz70.....title

It'll be a tradeoff.
Free highspeed internet, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited usage, free internet appliances for jizzbags that know nothing but surfage, free hosting, free everything.
All you'll need to give back is your profile which they'll gather and deduce for you.
You'll get drilled with ads you want to see, which isn't going to be so bad.

Think about it...
You see a million ads a day for penis enhancement, offshore drugs, and pr0n.
Would you trade your profile for free access, a spam-free environment and ads about football, video cards, fishing gear, cigars, and TRULY free pr0n?
You're fvckin right, baby.

It's not far off. They're already building the infrastructure. Look for a "free-based" (congrats to me for reappropriating that word) test market in the next year.

Definately true. People LOVED Microsoft in the beginning, but now people are "forced" to use it. This always happens to anything big, whether it's the roman empire or the monopoly. As it grows bigger and bigger the stakes grow higher and higher, and it becomes harder and harder to manage your fanbase. All your base are belong to us doesn't apply here.

This is a big one where they'll start getting flak over being a Microsoft monopoly and where folks will start screaming how bad they suck...

Total domination of media distribution.

They've got the vision and tech to pipe all your shyt in on two streams.
Custom cable access, voice and video communication, seamless wireless broadband, all your communications tied together in one awesome custom amalgamation.

All your access wherever you need it, car, house, phone, tv, all of it.
One bill to one monster, supercheap.

Microsoft has been trying to do this from a software platform and the closest they can get is Media Center 2005 and piggybacking other hardware technologies. It's not working because it lacks the vision and is tied to it's own restraints by "what they do".

Google is coming from a different angle.
They're starting with a clean slate. "Here's what we can do, here's what we want to throw at the people, let's buy smart and make it come together. We'll be king for 30 years and insanely rich."

Microsoft is bogged with all the crap they have going on, trying to improve old ideas, and their resources are spread too thin on old ideas to target new ones.
Google will open up new avenues, new opportunities, and new ideas while MS will continue doing grunt work.
Google wil pwn MS, literally, when they have use for their services.
Take that to the bank (or your portfolio).
