Google Voice

I've been using it for 3 months and still no invites 🙁

I think it's cuz there's only so many phone #s out there. While Wave started out a lot smaller, they gave a bunch of Wave invites out later on because it's really no cost to them. Phone #s are a bigger cost in the end, so I think they deployed Voice out pretty nicely and most ppl who signed up for an invite got one (almost everyone I knew got it), but if you missed out then, there's probably not much left unfortunately =[

Yeah, what he said ^.

My GV number is in the 916 area code, as far as I know that's a number used for a majority of Sacramento phones. Maybe once they establish secondary headquarters at another area code?

I got a 330 number which is correct for where I live (NE Ohio)... Perhaps if they didn't secure rights to your Area Code it defaults to a CA one.

If anyone has an invite I'd like one.

My brother somehow got one and the funny thing is he signed up for it a week after me. I was like WTH. Its been 3 maybe 4 months now and he has no invites to give out. Wonder what it takes to get invites to send out.

By the way how the invites work? Do I get to pick a number locally for me or is it a number where the person who sent me the invite has?

You can put in a zip code to get a local number, although it's not required at all.

When I got an invite, it asked me to find a number. You can use area code or zip code to look for a closer exchange. None in the 603 (NH) area code unfortunately. I have to decide between 781 (work) or 813 (where I used to live).

No iPhone app yet for it, so I have to decide how to work that out.

Hmm I guess if I ever get an invite chances are there won't be any numbers in the 408 or even any bay area area code.

I hate to beg after zerogear gave me an invite, but i have a buddy who is from the UK who would really benefit from the intl rates, so if anyone has an extra invite i'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

It looks like to use it outside the US you have to have a Gizmo5 account, almost impossible otherwise. Gizmo5 isn't giving out invites at this moment.

I should clarify, he's living in the US currently as an research experience deal, so he would be calling from the US to the UK.

Long Shot. Anyone could spare an google voice invite for me? Thanx. By the way i could share/exchange a google wave invite 🙂
