Hope to get in. I don't really need it right now as I only have a cell #, but I can see it being very useful in the future.

had a # from grandcentral and finally converted it to a google voice account. no invites to give out atm but i'll update when i do have one.

Just got my invite 🙂

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have an iPhone 3G S with AT&T (of course). Google Voice says that I can make free calls within the U.S. by entering a number to dial and then having it call me.

But wouldn't that still use up my AT&T anytime minutes?

Yup. Basically any minutes used will deduct from your minutes plan, unless it's 611 for AT&T. This obviously applies anything that's not in the nights and weekend package.

Yes. Airtime charges != long distance charges.

Yeah & the fact that if Google did open up Gvoice to everyone. It would be all over the net. I was looking at new Google Voice videos on YouTube and found that one.

I feel sorry for the people who don't know crap and enter there e-mail address and click download. LOL. Download? Yeah another proof this site is BS.

Google Voice is suppose to offer number porting, I think? They haven't done it yet. So Google Voice will be in invite beta for awhile....

But good things come to those who wait. Watch out for these sites & don't get scammed.

After playing around with this for a bit, it doesn't seem to do much for me. I already have an unlimited homeline (Vonage) that forwards to my iPhone if need be. I just got an iPhone, so there's no friggin' way that I'm gonna send out ANOTHER mass email telling people about ANOTHER new phone number. And I quite like visual voicemail on my iPhone and don't need a substitute.

Maybe I'll warm up to it more when they allow number porting, but for now, I'm just "meh".

I just received 2 invites about a week apart, with those accounts having signed up about a month ago. My original google voice account is over a year old.

Coolio. I haven't been signed up for long, and didn't know how long folks were waiting.

I signed up months ago and just got the invite today. I did put in a request for a second invite a few weeks ago, but I'm not expecting an invite on that one for a while yet.

I also noticed they are now allowing people to change their google voice numbers - costs $10 though.
