so, i got a google voice account for a work number. however, whenever i text or call friends, they don't know it's me because it calls them using my google voice number and not my cell number.

is there a way to accept calls from my google voice account to my cell, but make calls from my cell using my cell number rather than my google voice number? also, is there a way to, perhaps, toggle which number to use on outgoing calls and texts?

i've been googling around, but haven't been able to find anything. my friend said it was possible and he uses google voice.

Yeah. Go to settings on the app and and go to "making calls" and check next to "do not use google voice to make any calls".

Calls out should use your normal number as long as your Gvoice is only set up for forwarding online, if not change the making calls settings behaviors. You can change the text behavior to display your real number instead of the Gvoice one in the settings online.

In the settings you can have it use GV for all calls, not use GV, or have it ask each time you make a call.

The whole idea is to have people use that number instead of your regular number. With GV, you have to commit to that number 100%.

I use my GV for voicemail only now. And when I'm giving my phone number to a website.

GV is so awesome and the international rates are dirt cheap. We call England at only 2 cents per minute.
