Google to cancel support for IE7, Safari 3, and Firefox 3.5 in August

There isn't one IMO. Dropping support for old, less secure web browsers is a no brainer for any company.

until a few months ago, the hospital i work at *couldnt* upgrade past ie6 and more than one vendor application was ie-6 only. its crap.

opera can be pretty great, but for now it's just too damn flaky for me. i'm now on firefox, with a few tweaks to be more opera-ish.

Come on Google, disable search support for users of these browsers as well...please. It would be the best thing that's happened to Bing and others in a while.

I'm still using 3.5. I didn't even know there was a 3.6

I'm using 5. I saw the upgrade notification came up and I was like WTF is this scam, 4 just came out. Sure enough, FF is on the Chrome versioning fasttrack.

Enterprises are still struggling to get off ie6 because their apps don't support anything later.
