Why do I have this feeling that Apple is about to steal Google's thunder as we speak?

They even took a jab at streaming services and their limitations.

No, because Apple is to greedy and will not offer not a single similar product or service for free. This is very logical, it is Google they are doing this for years.

1.Google Stadia for free, or up to 1080p Free Youtube games + some advertisement you can not block or hide.

2.Google Stadia Paid, 4K gaming + no advertisement

Apple Online Free gaming, yeah right+ 3.5mm headphone jack will return+new Apple wireless earbuds will cost only 30$.

Google Stadia posters where is Intel logo if Intel is CPU partner?
They don't have an intel logo on their cloud main page either and that's all intel CPUs.
https://cloud.google.com/

And sure, they might add epyc to the mix in the future(if it ever makes sense) but not in the way some people in here make it out to be.
