I got tired of ketchup and decided to buy catsup. Couldn't find any and it became a quest (a stupid quest, but a quest nonetheless) that lasted years. I finally found some in Mexico. I'm glad I didn't get in trouble bringing it home. I don't think I'd get much respect in the pen if I was serving time as a catsup smuggler.

Does Google just have people sitting around programming misc apps?

Don't stary cryin when Google moves into town and runs all of the mom and pop Walmarts out of business. 😉

Yes, they all get 20% of their time to work on anything they want while on the job. It's one of their many job benefits.

Actually I think Google purchased this program and gave it a few tweaks, then made it free for non commercial use. At least that's what I read on another forum. There's a pro version you can buy on that site, it looks like it has some extra nice features too.

Probably, Sketchup has been around for a while now.

Looks like they purchased it so that people could create buildings for google earth.

They did. I was just reading /. and saw this, and was about to post here, but I saw this thread instead (and I didn't even search!).

They purchased it for 60 million. I know a few people who work at the company. Apparently they blinded the windows, positioned a security guard out there, and replaced all the equipment. Also, meals are catered daily from local restaurants.
