It's no big deal, in fact it's kind of great that the two companies can cross-promote and have fun at the same time. And similar things have been done before. I'm sure most of you remember Google/Verizon/LucasFilm collaboration on the name 'Droid' and the product 'Droid R2D2'.

I'm most surprised Google and Nestle got the deal done in an hour with no money changing hands. And they kept 4.4 KitKat a secret til now with no leak photos of KitKat bar wrapper with Android picture. That's pretty hard to do in this age with all the cellphone cameras and the internet.

When Ice Cream Sandwich came out my father in law thought he had a virus on his phone (he's around 65 and obviously not tech minded) because he kept asking him if he "wanted a Ice Cream Sandwich". I can't wait to see him with this. I get that Google is attempting to be less tech sounding with these code names in final production but I still don't get why they can't use rev numbers.

Apple needs to start coming up with cool code names for their iOS releases, so they can get marketing tie-ins as well!

I can see it now... iOS 7.1 "BMW 7 Series" edition... feel the performance improvements :)

BMW? More like Toyota Corolla. They make the same car year after year too! :)

Google can change their versions to cars too. We'll just call it the Homer Simpson car. It tries to be everything to everyone but it does it all at a second rate quality! :)

Hope the new OS is as good as the KitKat Chunky!

I am literally angry with rage! Klondike Bar is a much better name, and the advertising writes itself. What would you dooooo... for a Google phone. Talk about dropping the ball.

Incidentally, according to Wikipedia, Kit-Kat is produced by Nestle on a worldwide basis with the exception of the USA where it is licensed by Hershey. So I'm guessing neither one of them will be objecting to "unfair trade practices" or whatever the hell people are whining about. And who else is there to complain? Lindt? Cadbury? Whatever asshole invented circus peanuts? No one gives a shit about them. "Sir, Mars Inc. is on the phone complaining about our use of 'Kit-Kat." "Tell them if they wanted us to use their product, Kudos shouldn't suck so much ass."

I can honestly tell you that even though I have had andrioid phones for 5+ years now my total jelly bean, ice cream sandwich and honeycomb intake has risen by exactly 0%.

How did Google sell out?

If anything, Nestle got a sweetheart deal. Android is shipping 500 million devices a year or some staggering number.
