Apple needs to start coming up with cool code names for their iOS releases, so they can get marketing tie-ins as well!

I can see it now... iOS 7.1 "BMW 7 Series" edition... feel the performance improvements 🙂

and why post this in OT?

Stupid threads like this are why I stay out of GGP or whatever the hell its called now. This is solely about mobile devices. Post it in the mobile device forum.

because it's OT. Talking about the branding, not the actual technology.

Selling out? How are they selling out? B/c of a silly code name?

Did it really offend you that much? Or did you just feel like posting something in off-topic today?

So selling millions of phones with an OS called Kitkat wouldn't help Nestle over its competitors?

There may be no case legally, but to say Kraft and Herschey or even Lindt won't be pissed off is naive.

LOL. Like this is the first time something has been licensed. Guess it's unfair for schoolbag and lunchbox makers to have cartoon characters on their merchandise.

Can't tell if OP is joking or just an idiot...

I have an idea about that.

sell out is not just about money changing hand...

Well lets see, from Wikipedia...
Selling out is the compromising of integrity, morality, or principles in exchange for personal gain, such as money.

That seems like as good as definition as any, still not seeing it. To each his own I suppose.

Maybe Hershey, but Lindt has a chance once Android 4.5 comes out

I like how google sometimes does weird things apparently for no reason other than someone in google thought it would be fun. This feels like that to me.

It's no big deal, in fact it's kind of great that the two companies can cross-promote and have fun at the same time. And similar things have been done before. I'm sure most of you remember Google/Verizon/LucasFilm collaboration on the name 'Droid' and the product 'Droid R2D2'.
