Why does google photos screensaver want to contact its server? and should I allow this? I know BitDefender says its clean, but I dont like programs hogging my bandwidth unnecessarily....

The major question is, why?? Why does this app wanna contact its server (or whatever)?

(I hope this question belongs here, I couldnt think of any other better place to post it.... )

My guess is it's checking for updates, or sending usage statistics. I wouldn't worry about it. The bandwidth usage should be nominal. You probably wouldn't notice the usage if you were on 56k.

Maybe to see how often it's used, and for how long. I would think it would be of interest so they could focus developer time.
