Google Play Music and album art

Does anyone here have their phone working with Google Play Music consistently so that album art is always shown?

When I was on Android 4.4.4 I stuck with the initial version of GPM because any updates seemed to routinely mess up album art support. Since I upgraded to Android 6, nothing I've tried has ever managed to get album art to show.

It shows up like it's supposed to on my phones and tablet. It even shows up when I Chromecast it to a TV in my house.

When I had a Nexus 6P i used Shuttle music player, it downloads all the art work. You might have to refresh your GPM cache or wait for update for it to refresh and be updated. It can be a PITA

Works for me on the 6P, if you go to google music on a PC does it all show up there?

occasionally something wont load but in general its because of a weak connection, 99% of the time it works fine

I ripped the mp3s from CD to my PC then transferred them via USB to my phone, so they wouldn't show up on the GPM site on my PC. I've tried clearing its cache and refreshing it, no difference.

Shuttle Music Player can see the artwork; I might just start using that instead.

I don't use GPM for locally stored music, I use Poweramp. I use GPM and YM for streaming music. Sorry if my previous reply confused the situation.

I use a program on my phone to get missing cover art (I think it's Album Art Grabber or Cover Art Downloader) - Winamp doesn't transfer art if it had to transcode a file and sometimes, it just doesn't transfer if it wasn't embedded in the file. After updating the cover art on my phone, I then have to clear the data (not just the cache) for Google Play Music. Then the art shows up.

I use PowerAmp. Even for my Google music. On a PC I just download my Google music and copy it to my phone. The google music player is crap. I do the same thing with my Amazon MP3s.

I tried about five different apps - this tactic worked for the stock version of GPM for Android 4.4.4 but little else for me.

I have over 200gb of music local to my phone and can stream 8TB from my NAS at home. I don't rely much on google or amazons cloud service.
