Companies will never adopt to it. but personally i think it's great for home office / personal use.

Not everyone has MS Office on the home computer, and not everyone who can't afford it would like to download it from torrents sites either.
I applaud them for trying to benefit the general home user, but they will never make a dent in the corporate world.

I think the idea behind it is good.

Haven't used it yet though, but I'll try it later.

Unless I'm really, really hard up for a word processor somewhere.

you're a little dense if you can't see ANY advantages. Like I said before, collaboration. No sending files back and forth and getting them mixed up.

this works very well for some of our staff that will be sitting on terminal servers.. all students. They won't have access to thumb drives, so they can just use this instead. Less annoying than emailing themselves.

and yes, i see a potential for home use. altho, something like abiword would fit better. I've found some use in the spreadsheet, but i'm too used to excel saving the state a sheet is in, ie if I'm at the bottom of a list.

Meh. Messed around with it several months ago. Wasn't impressed then either. There's better ways of being able to share/access documents remotely. Simple syncing of local software-generated files with remote storage space seems the most useful implementation.

Google's good about putting out a steady stream of news pieces like this. Keeps investors happy even if some of these 'new' features aren't that great.

A webdrive would serve all those purposes much better.

innovative, but tying your production to an internet connection is a bit flaky.
I will stick with openoffice and MS office for now. I'm really digging the openoffice suite.

that'd still require another piece of software though. It's much more user friendly to just do it through google. I've seen poeple confused and botch up the simplest of anything tech related.

now, i'm not saying every situation works, just saying there are cases where it's advantageous. I can see a plus for oganizations on the maintence side as well. Granted, it's far from being usable in a business environment as of now.

Would have been nice in college when we had collabritive projects.

Web drives and stuff are nice for people who know how to use it, which isn't everyone.
