Google News scrolls really choppy on first gen iPad

Anyone else have this issue? It used to be very smooth. I don't know if it is choppy now because of an iOS update or if it's slow because of the new layout of the page. More importantly, does anyone know of a way to fix it?
 
Are you guys scrolling all the way up and all the way down? It's not that the framerate is low, it's just that it will randomly become unresponsive to me trying to change the scroll direction and it will seem to jump around the page to catch up to earlier touch inputs that it ignored.

I tried clearing cache and rebooting.
 
Works fine for me, but you mentioned a new layout. I'm still seeing the same old layout... so maybe that has something to do with it.
