For years I wanted a streaming option for when I was driving or out and about. Now...now I have too many.

I have all my music stored to Google Music and Amazon. I have a few albums that I bought on Amazon stored to my Amazon Cloud. Its something like a few thousand songs, maybe more. My problem is that I never know what I want to listen to. Or at least hardly ever. I also really like comedy and a wide variety of it. I also like to listen to different genres of music. Usually the same one when I'm in the mood. I also listen to a lot of podcasts.

So I have all these options. Amazon is almost there with Doubletwist but it doesn't sync with Amazon Cloud. Its radio isn't too bad. Spotify seems good but I don't think I fully now how to use it. On my phone I can only search or listen to songs I've favorited. Or listen to the top tracks which are not my style. Pandora does a great job for streaming different music of the same genre and the comedy part but not if I want to hear a certain song.

So please help me narrow this down. I'm a week into my 30 day trial of Spotify and like all the songs and the search, just wish it had a radio option for mobile. Does Pandora have a paid option that will let me search for certain tracks? I know Slacker does, but it has the worst comedy and decades selections (play the same thing over and over).

HALP!

Amazon. Easy to download, cheap, always been DRM free. Big selection. Occasional sales. Oh, and plenty of free albums in case you arent sure you like their downloading method.

Amazon is great for buying music. I've bought a couple comedy albums and MC Chris' latest on there. The problem is that I am more of a streaming guy.

Unless I'm feeling hardcore. Then I search for Tupac and gangsta it up!

I like having a car audio system with an SD slot. Good for when I go camping and out of cell range.

I have that, USBx2, AUX in...never use any of it. Heck I've never even had a CD in my CD player.

But back on point. What service is there that has good streaming radio but will also let me search for a certain song if that's what I want. I'm willing to pay if its worth it.

Android used to have a buttload of free music apps, many with search. I think pretty much all of them are now subscription.

Burn/rip cd's or acquire from alternate sources, load them up on my computer, link or stream to all my devices via iCloud. Find new music via Spotify or other.

I store nothing except my top 5-10 albums (in case I don' t get internet) on my phone but have access to my entire library at any given time. I'm far far too cheap to pay $10/mo for spotify.

Is there a radio option on mobile? I really like the 80s and 90s stations on the desktop app but I can't seem to find that on mobile. Did I miss it?

Thanks!

From what I heard, that's supposed to be integrated in the next update.

ok...so I didn't just miss it. I'm ok with that. I have no problem going with Pandora for streaming for now.

Will Spotify do comedy?

Any tips for a complete noob? I've searched for walkthroughs but they were all crap

any tips for me based on what I've said about my use?

I really appreciate the input

No opinion about comedy, but for radio on mobile what I do is use the Moodagent app in Spotify to create a playlist based on a song (same as Pandora I guess) and set it as offline on the mobile device. It will create a "radio station" with 20 songs. You can keep adding to the playlist with Moodagent playlists for more songs.

It's relatively easy.

Find the songs you like
Add them to a play list
Make the playlist available offline
Sync them over WiFi
Profit?

I use Amazon for my own music (desktop and mobile) + Spotify for those random stuff that I suddenly have the urge to listen to (desktop only)

Google Music is so slow and the UI is unbelievably unintuitive to me I couldn't stand using it, regardless of me being somewhat of a Google fanboy.

Pandora/Slacker are just not my cup of tea. If I want to listen to music I want to listen to particular songs, mostly a whole specific album, not 'something similar to something'. This is also why the 'playlist' feature in music players or 'Genius' in iTunes, etc has no use for me.
