Google has proposed changes to Chromium, the open source engine used in its Chrome browser, that could effectively kill ad blockers as we know them today. That isn't the stated reason for the changes, of course. Google says it wants to make Chrome extensions more secure, better defend user privacy and ensure page load times aren't increased by unruly extensions. But some are arguing the move could be more detrimental than that.

I hope they change their minds because if I can't use an ad blocker extension with Chrome, as much as I would hate switching browsers after using Chrome for so many years, I really wouldn't have much choice not to do so.

So Google think they don't earn enough money?

I'll switch to Firefox if Google kills Chrome ad block extensions.

So a corporation that makes its lions share of income from advertising by spying on its users is thinking about killing programs that block advertising and their ability to spy on their users. This is shocking it honestly is just really shocking....

For anyone who already doesn't know this Google isn't a search engine they are an advertising agency.

Exactly, they are going to try to do to the desktop what they did to mobile. Excommunicate any program that inhibits their ability to advertise, spy, and collect data on their users.
Hows the saying go?....."If you're not paying for the product you are the product."

Google is no better than any other advertising agency. They will do what ever it takes to make money and they will try and put a stop to anything that threatens their bottom line. They did it to mobile via the Play Store and the next evolution appears to be the desktop.
