Strange how some defend Apple to the end and state things like Google and Android are evil, but at the same time wish for Google's products to come to the rescue....Go figure.

I wouldn't expect Google to poor thousands of man hours into Apps for iOS when Apple chooses to just shitz on them in the end.

Some people on this forum? Or some people on the Internet? The Internet is a terrible place where the loudest minorities get noticed. I would try to not assume the loudest people represent the majority.

There is a good reason Apple pulled Google Maps from their phones. For me though, I never missed it. Again, I just paid for a superior product right out of the gate (Navigon). Love it, and never had the need to use Google Maps. For people that wanted a free GPS app, yeah, they weren't too happy about the decision to pull the app. The only thing I would disagree with them on (Apple), is that they pulled it before they could release a polished GPS app of their own. The deadline was too close, and they rushed the product to market. Not a good move.

As for Google rushing to get their app approved, they didn't do it to appease Apple, they did it out of their own interest. Every day that passed by that iOS users didn't use their app meant a loss in revenue for them. Google is smart (which is more than I can say about anti-Apple trolls). This was a business decision for them, nothing more.

I've never used apple maps before. I have an iPhone 4S running 5.1.1
I am strictly comparing the native google maps app on the 4s vs the one they just released yesterday.
This is not so much for the iPhone 4S, but for those of you still on the iPhone 4 (like me) and iOS 5 (not me), I suggest you stay there. iOS 5 is a bit speedier than iOS 6, enough to be noticeable. Add Google Maps, and iOS 5.1 is a complete package.

I wish I didn't install iOS 6. Unless you're a fb/twit fanatic, there just isn't any compelling reason to go iOS 6 on an iPhone 4 IMO.

Where the F&@% is street view? It is advertised in the App Store but I can't find it anywhere.
