Google Maps / Google Earth

I was thinking about this the other day and if you are looking at something you see that changes like a parking lot on a daily basis you might be able to guess when it was, if the picture was taken during some kind of event you know then it's even easier.

I am not sure but they have to be fairly new because a house that we currently have shows a remodel and addition that was done a year and a half ago

I doubt pictures of different parts of the world or country for that matter are the same. It probably take the satilite years to map the whole earth. Based on the building, I'd estimate the pictures of this city to be 4 years old.

look for building construction. get info on the building.

call the contractor (or city or architect) and find out when the various stages of the project were completed. should give you within a week or two.

They aren't all updated at once. The photos of my current house were updated a few months ago, while the photos of my old house haven't been updated in years.

The images in my immediate area haven't been updated since 2000, as I can easily tell by various constructions projects.

It's weird because I don't remember a yacht at one of our docks that's in the picture. I've shown it to others and they all laugh and say you really trust what you see on the internet? LOL -M
