No, Terra and keyhole both provide satallite pictures. He means combining the photos with the mapping service.
 
While I love the interface of Google maps, it has gotten me lost a couple times. One time it pointed me somewhere across town, no where near my real destination. So until they add everything to the database, you may want to double check the map with a different site.
