Heh. I searched for "porn" in my area. The neighboring county's tax collector was hit number 4.

Nice. I searched for pizza and the first listing was a hole-in-the-wall place that I use that makes great pizza. I searched for porn and the first lising was a label company, sixth listing was a grocery store, and seventh listing was a gay and lesbian community center - go figure. Out of the first ten listings, it looked like there was only two that looked legit.

Nice. I did a search for Brazilian Beef in Raleigh NC and it found exactly what I was looking for, and I have tried multiple times to find the name of this place with no such luck on triangle.citysearch.com. Should be a useful site.

Thanks for the laugh. For fun, the top find for a porn search in eastern Iowa turned up Mt. Mercy College, a Catholic school.

Serious searches proved useful, however.

What's scary is doing a search for "sex" in my city resulted in: the 2nd listing being a Family Center, and the 5th listing was an Animal Shelter.

I've used a similar service they offer for mobile phones - send a text message to GOOGL with your zip and what you want ( 'pizza' ) and it sends you back 3-5 hits within range.

I'm actually bummed out by this...
Why didn't I think of searching Web pages and crossreferencing the results with the Yellow Pages? :D:D:D

This is better than Yahoo's local. Whenever I do a search on Yahoo, it brings up listings of places from all over a 25 mile radius. Yahoo local is very hard to sort through.

Try this trick. some of you might know it already, but i recently tried it to see what happens.... anyhow input as a search string a phone number in quotes and if its listed and not private it'll give you the name and address tied to that name. ex "323-555-1212". Give it a show... its pretty cool and a good way to find out if your listed. Im not :D

Here's my 4th hit with "porn".

Republican Party of Pinellas County

Maybe Clinton would be happy to see that. :Q
