Google's new logo
mike_myers_as_dr_evil_in_austin_powers.jpg

Just go search for "army"

Amazon
ARea Code (whitepages/ask)
ARMy

3x the ads.

Like I said, amazing business decision.

I don't really need the auto complete feature. But it did sometimes guess correct at what I was looking for.

Doesn't help me much at my typing speed.

I'm not really buying into Googles recent changes.
The only thing that could make Google better for me at this point is better search results and if they removed advertising altogether.

I really don't need to see results faster or anything, though.

Really stupid from a user standpoint but brilliant from a business stand point.

Now google not only gets add impressions from what you search for but they also get add impression from things that the user is not actually searching for.

Only if a user stays on a given query for 3 seconds.

Personally, I think Google Instant is shit. It's annoying as fuck to see the search results flash in front of my face while I'm typing a query and it's slower than query + enter. I doubt it'll be the default on Google in a month.

Ok, I've spent a little time with it and I kind of find it annoying. I'm really trying to like it, but it just annoys the fuck out of me to see the screen changing ass I type.

I saw this the other day and go "WTF?" When I realized what was going on, my first thought was "I need to turn this shit off ASAP." Unfortunately I was in a hurry and didn't have time. I also wanted to play around with it a bit before turning it off. Might be a bit of fun :)

Is this Google's attempt to make up for the abysmally slow query results we've been seeing the last couple months?? I'm sick of waiting 10 seconds for results to appear. Google to be almost instantaneous. Guess they had to create a demand for this new product.

They already store the top few million queries in ram. I haven't noticed any real slowdown.

Is there anyone else who positively can't stand it? I tried to leave feedback, but they don't have an option for "I don't like one of your features".

A lof of you must have really slow computers and really slow net connections. The instant results show up instantly for me no matter what I type in.

This is for the common man, not for all you smart people. Great marketing, i can see a lot of average folks liking it. Simple is good for them, I am also pretty sure these folks do not use the search bar at the top right.

It's annoying and distracting, but I expect I'll get used to it.
