Goddamnit Google, come on. You have an office in Ann Arbor! I'll run the cable from there to my house myself. You know you've wanted my data ever since I turned off location services on my phone...

Yay! Phoenix! Who do I need to provide sexual favors for to make that happen?

What favors do I have to do to even get them to look at any city in Ohio, let alone mine?

Eh, they'd take what I had to offer and still toss me aside and ignore my wishes. 🙁

Why is it good? How much for how fast?

$120/mo for gigabit + tv
$70/mo for gigabit only (1000Mb up/1000Mb down)

And the one I'd be most interested in, Free Internet:
$0/mo + $300 installation fee for 5Mb down/1Mb up

Was thinking of moving to Salt Lake City. This would push it over the top for sure.

This is speculation, but my guess would be that they are going to take over or incorporate the existing attempt at a fiber network for the salt lake valley that seems to be currently stalled. Comcast fought pretty hard and seems to have gotten the help of some local law makers. There are 3 suburbs of salt lake city that have it currently, but the coverage map is pretty weird. If i had to guess i would say google is probably a few years from having anything solid going here.

I really hope Atlanta gets it since I plan on moving down there in a couple years, so that would be most excellent !

Does that include Apex, North Carolina (very close to Raleigh) ? ? If it does, I wonder if that will be a better deal than Time Warner ? ? (I know no Verizon FIOS in the whole state)

Atlanta ain't going to help Newnan.
People are clueless about the Atlanta metro area.

These are the cities Google considers to be "Atlanta" in the OP's link:
Avondale Estates
Brookhaven
College Park
Decatur
East Point
Hapeville
Sandy Springs
Smyrna

Newnan is 11 minutes from the the Perimeter. IOW, College Park and Atlanta-proper is only minutes away. I can move a few miles, genius. I spent three years in San Deigo so it's not like I'm married to this place. 🙄 Anyone in Newnan facing a lease renewal now has this to consider so, yes, it is going to affect us Newnan. Almost everyone I work with in Newnan commutes from one of those places or even farther away.

And don't bother with the "That's not Atlanta!" BS. We all know that the "perimeter" includes College Park, Decatur, etc inside and they are all collectively "Atlanta" unless you want to call Atlanta Airport the "College Park Airport." 🙄

They'd probably string you along for a bit first:
'Hey - why don't you come over here and tell us more about how badly you want us.'
'Oh I like the way you did your proposal on your knees. Why don't you come back tomorrow with a bit fewer clothes and tell us some more'
'So Bateluer let us put our fiber in his area any where and way we wanted but we really like you so why don't you come down here again and give it another shot'
