It's a simple doc file w/ an image and text. When uploaded to google docs something happens that completely screws up the image. I can't have that, so what else is there?

the things is very sensitive to connectivity and firewalls too. A lot like gmails, where your actions does not go through and there's no readily available "save" button either.

I avoid working in it like the plague and use Office first and then upload it to google docs.

I WAS workin in word... then uploaded to google docs and that's when I had problems.

Can always set up SharePoint... that's what my buddy and I did for a project we worked on. Google Docs is an abomination.

I find google docs works well on its own but that transferring back and forth between it and an offline office app (openoffice/ms office/iWork) is a total crapshoot.

google docs is great for sharing documents/spreadsheets with a ton of people, but that's about it.

Also, I have several simple spreadsheets of information that I've made that are essentially "backed up" on the internet. Important stuff like investment information, serial #'s, etc.
