UPDATE!!

Chrome was updated today (though my in browser about menu told me I was still up to date) so you may have to go re-download it as I did. Bookmark syncing and extensions.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! YOUR NEW #1 BROWSER HAS FINALLY EARNED ITS PLACE ON THE DOOOOOOOOOOOCCCKKK!!!!!!!!! :D

bout time. I will check it out.

Whatever happen to the big brother stuff that people were talking about when chrome first came out?

IE: Google keeping record of what you type in its superbar. Because its tied to google search. I forget all the details...

Glad i tried chrome again. Probably the forth or fifth time. I think im gonna switch for a bit :)

Its got ad block and speed dial extensions. Along with bookmark sync. Good enough for me to give it a go.

The scrolling kinda sucks though. Just a little tiny bit jumpy, not completely smooth. And when i click the middle mouse button no circle thing for super fast scrolling. Anyone know how to fix?

I prefer firefox over any browser thus far...

it uses too much memory for me. also, 3.5+ has been crashing for me a lot lately, i dont know why. i only use adblock plus, forecastfox, extended statusbar, netcraft toolbar, and download manager tweak. dont get me wrong, i love, prefer, and use firefox exclusively on windows, but in osx, i just cant.

Firefox doesn't look right, or scroll right to me. Plus, both Chrome and Firefox offend on one front that that will keep me with Safari... I like to queue up tabs, and if I am at Youtube or Kongregate (flash game site) and am queuing up a lot of stuff, I like that Safari (even pre-ClickToFlash, the world's greatest thing ever... well maybe not, but close) will not load the Flash content until I get to that tab.

Also, Chrome doesn't have support for Inquisitor.

totally agreed about firefox not looking and scrolling right. those are quite honestly, the reasons why i dont use firefox in osx (i love firefox in windows 100%, believe me), and the recent crashing and memory usage from 3.5+ is icing on the cake. yes i know there are themes that make it look like safari and extensions to make the scrolling go "smoother", but i just cant get used to it. this is why i love safari as well, but its just so limited without extensions (safari adblocker and click-to-flash whatever only goes so far). the reason i like chrome is because it combines the practicality of extensions (finally, a browser that doesnt need to close/reopen each time you install/uninstall an extension), and low memory footprint.

the problem(s) i have with chrome? the goddamn tabs at the top and how there is no title bar. why in gods name are they at the top? i must be the only person who despises the tabs at the top. i remember safari 4 beta was like that, but you were able to change it manually. however, they changed it in safari 4 final so the tabs were at the bottom. also, half of the time, my chrome window doesnt reopen to the place i want it to be, and i cant figure out why. lastly, maybe im just so used to having a seperate address bar for search (like firefox, ie7/ie8, safari) on the top right, but i dont like how chrome has its address bar unified for everything.

Tried it on windoze, but wasn't really all that impressed with it over FF. I didn't think the mac version would be worth looking at yet, but I may have to try it on mac because support for FF may be discontinued for 10.4 sometime this year if rumors are true. :(

Im really liking chrome on the mac but it has far to many problems to replace firefox some of which are:

1) Flash takes crazy amounts of memory, flash support is horrible to begin with and chrome makes it even worse.

2) Gif's take 20% cpu vs 2% on firefox, this is a bug the windows version had too but they fixed it but its still there for the mac

3) in general im seeing cpu spikes through out surfing the net, my battery drains more and my macbook heats up more often.

Chrome is putting out new dev builds on a weekly basis so im hoping they fix these issues, specially the flash support, if they can make it take as much cpu as safari i would be happy with it for now.

If they fix these issues and add a few more features its missing im ready to switch
