Google Chrome issue

Chrome has lately been giving me issues (as in I started noticing things in the past couple months). It doesn't ALWAYS happen, but seems to happen often (and randomly). Sometimes it's terrible, sometimes it goes away (sometimes on its own, sometimes after I close it, sometimes after a reboot, etc).

It will just randomly hang/freeze/lock-up/stutter/lag every few seconds. For example, I'll be typing something. It will freeze for a few seconds while I type, and then quickly register anything I typed or did during that frozen period. Sometimes it goes in a stop-go-stop-go-etc manner. Another example: I'll just be clicking around links. It will lock up when I click. The mouse icon won't change. It doesn't "click" the link. Then it clicks it and loads it up after a couple seconds. Or I'll right click....wait...it's obviously locked-up...then it pops up (the right-click menu thing).

I don't know how else to describe it. It's horribly frustrating to deal with, though I absolutely love Chrome as a browser. It's just recently been giving me problems (I think). I don't know if it has something to do with Windows 7 or what. This has been tested on clean installs of the RC and RTM.

Of course, Chrome's help pages are basically useless for the issue, but I know I'm not the only one experiencing this.

I've just about given up on chrome. I was initially infatuated but the reality of daily annoyances has reared its ugly head. I might check back in a year of so.

This is really the only problem I've had with it lately.

I've never actually had a problem with it, but the newest version for some reason starts playing MP3 files in its own window with WMP? WTF?? Winamp is seto to the default player but it still does it. Driving me BONKERS.

back of extensions is what bugs me.

and try a full reinstall, clean out every directory with chrome stuff in it. hidden in my documents//application folders etc

its never stuttered on me. but the extensions support even on the dev version are a joke right now compared to firefox. sometimes simple is too much, its gimped.

How interesting. I had the same problem on an xp installation. I had no idea the source of the problem was chrome. As near as I can recall, it did start to happen after I installed chrome. It hasn't happened recently but then I stopped using chrome. I thought for sure I had picked up some malware and spent many hours checking ... thanks google.

Wow that sucks. What is it with so many browsers having all these issues? I never thought it would be so difficult to actually find a good working browser.

Ive been using Chrome for a good while. While ive never had these issues talked about here, one install of it i had typically crashed on a certain website, i figured one of the add ons, plug ins or extensions it needed to run a flash advertisement, or similar function was hosed. Since then though ive never had an issue.

Yes, it will open up in QT if you have it installed. WMP if you don't. I cannot for the life of me figure out how NOT to make it do that. It just started with this new version.. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG.
