This is twice now - I wanted to update my CCleaner, and downloaded the latest version. The install process contains Google Chrome as a Trojan horse with no visibled way to say "No Thanks."

CCleaner installs just fine, but Chrome piggybacks and then tries to take over my PC. I had to immediately uninstall Chrome and then run CCleaner to get rid of all the crap it imposed.

Anyone know how to get that garbage out of CCleaner install?

Yeah, I know - there are Chrome fanboys out there, but I refuse to allow any software to install itself without my express permission.

Just updated to the latest version and I didn't have any options to install chrome and it didn't install google chrome either.

So, I don't have any idea how to fix your problem.

Also where did you download it from? I used Filehippo...

OK - I used both Piriform and Filehippo. But - with your link, the Chrome crap did not enter into the process. Also, I found a possible better solution. That is, the new portable version. That is a zip file that can be unzipped to a thumb crive and used on any system. Same version.

Thanks for the responses - looks like problem is solved. :)
