Google Checkout is LIVE.

I don't know why, but I feel funny about doing this through Google. Sure they're super uber reputable and everything they put out is choice... but they already have all of my emails on file. So now I give them my CC info, next social security, then my life. Is it just me?

You don't actually think they don't already have access to your SS#?

How did we come to trust google so much? Everyone just loves google... how did that happen? Is it the multicolored name? Their Ben and Jerry's attitude?

Was there some underground marketing campaign: "trust google"?

But speaking for myself... I have to say... I do trust google.

you are right...google is one of the most loved companies out there. nobody actually likes yahoo or msn, despite using them. nobody likes starbucks type fad companies as much as google. interesting phenomenon, to say the least

So next will be the google bank,

Google airlines (it will be beta for a long time)

Google is going to make all of our lives better.

And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.🙂

Fee structure

Not sure if it works for Ebay yet. I think they would rather use it with thier Google Base for a while until they build up the user base.

The undercutting fee structure is pretty interesting. Google charges 2% of the sale & 20 cents for all transactions while Paypal charges 2.9% and 30 cents for the vast majority of their transactions.

Google Checkout is already integrated into Buy.com and Starbucksstore.com.

They want you to pay to use your credit card?

Huh? You don't have to pay any fee to use your credit card. You have to pay a fee to accept credit card transactions.

Errr...wait a minute. Don't they only charge the person accepting the payment, not the person making the payment?

I prefer yahoo mail to google mail.
Its mail. I need a "Compose", "To", "Subject" and "Send" button. I dont need a calendar, I dont need it to call my phone.
I just need mail. Yahoo fits the bill.

I doubt it will ever work for eBay. I think accepting any form of payment besides check/MO/Paypal is forbidden by the ToS. eBay and Yahoo just partnered up to fight Google, so I really don't see eBay making it easy to use Google Checkout.

Hmm, but if I have a paypal account, as long as I keep withdraws under $500 a month, there isnt a processing fee right? Google charges for every transaction correct?

Or am I confused?

ok... your reasoning... makes no sense. Yahoo has a calendar too.. you don't have to use it, same w/ google. gmail has a compose, to, subject and send button too. I can understand you not liking google and prefering yahoo, that's fine, but use a logical argument.

and what does your cell phone have to do w/ anything

PayPal is fine with me however it's nice to see them have some competition. However, in both cases I'm paying digitally and am not being charged fees, so I don't really care which I use.
