Google Chat through Gmail

I love it. An integrated chat window while I check my Gmail is awesome. Plus the Google Talk-esqe window on the side to see who is online is great as well. Looks like everyone will have access over the next few weeks.

doh...not on my gmail yet

although i do show a 'Chat's' link on my left bar now...but it just takes me to history

Yah, I've got that link as well. The only thing I can do now is go into the settings and choose if I want to save chat logs or not.

I've been playing around with it all day, it works great! No problems with the strict firewall at school either. The chat windows are pretty small but stay out of the way in the lower right hand corner so you can still see your emails.

Anybody else get it yet?

While the chat feature is nice. I think Google really screwed up here. Companies like Websense block Gmail because of the chat function.

I cannot access Gmail at the library or at school.

MAJOR PROBLEM

Classes nearly came to halt when this first happened. 90% of the teachers transfer files from home to school via Gmail, so they did not have their notes, tests, quizzes, etc for that day. In comp sci, most of the students uses GMail to store their programs so we can work at school or home. That class came to a halt.

I'm pretty sure flash drive sales have skyrocketed in the past few days.

this feature works pretty well.

this is pretty cool! ... I like the pop-in and pop-out feature.

It stores conversations into the Chats folder too...
Now I wish it would just interface with AIM users as well...

heh, I opened google talk and one of my old pals I invited a while ago was online so I message him and he was like "wtf?!" I said "what?"

..."I never downloaded google talk, this is crazy, how are you doing this?"
