You'd think the words "SAMSUNG" or "GALAXY TAB" on the box or tablet would tip them off that it's not an IPAD2, but yes, lets cater to the lowest of the lowest common denominator.
I bet there are idiots who think the Samsung Galaxy III is an iphone 4s too.
I am reasonably sure this applies to every Best Buy that carries Apple products. If you look where the iPads are displayed, they're on their own brightly light kiosk. They will be 4 iPads attached to stands, two iPad 2s, two iPad 3s. A black and white one for each. There will be a large panel with the Apple logo and images of the iPads towards the rear of the kiosk. Usually, iPad models are stored under the kiosk table in locked cabinets.
By contract, the Samsung Galaxy Tabs are displayed in a much smaller end table piece, or along side the Asus, Acer, and Toshiba devices. Apple and Samsung are the only ones that ever had their own segregated displays.
Apple has great marketing, far better than any other company. There is no possible way that even the most computer illiterate person could walk into a Best Buy and purchase a Galaxy Tab thinking it was an iPad with these displays. It simply isn't possible.
The sales person may show the customer several models, but its still the customer who makes the decision and they know full well if they'r buying an iPad or not.
