Let me explain. I left my computer on today, with Google Talk running, and then I went to school. At school I was able to log on Google Talk for my first period class. Then for my second class, I tried logging on, but it wouldn't let me at all. So I thought maybe someone changed it in the first class, but only two of my friends were sitting next to me, and the only time i was away from the computer was just for like five minutes, and they said no one got on my computer or anything.
So after I got back home, I was still signed in to Google Talk but when I tried to access Gmail, it only had my user name, but not my password. I went to the Google Account link from the Google page though, and it would let me access that. A little while after, it signed me out of Google Talk and I can't get back in since it requires inputting my password. So all I can access is account settings now.

Also, I scanned my computer for viruses, and there was a trojan, and also Ad-Aware detected a key logger. I'm actually thinking I know who's fault it is now, because my friend sent me a trojan last night, but I didn't have a virus scanner installed at the time (since I just reinstalled XP), so I opened it then, and didn't know it was a trojan until now. However, he's denying ever doing it, but if I got the file from his own web site, he would be the only one who could have stolen the account right?

I can't help it if you don't believe me, but first of all, I wouldn't hack into anyone's account anyway, and even if I wanted to, I could just install a key logger or something instead of going through this much trouble.

So I just reinstalled Windows XP (sp1) yesterday afternoon. It's been running (with restarts) since then with no anti virus, but with a hardware firewall and the windows firewall. I've only downloaded a few things but nothing suspicious (mostly just Windows updates and a few programmes like Firefox). At about 11pm last night, my friend sent me an exe file, which I know know to be trojan-1134. I also found a key logger installed today, which seems to have been last modified the around the same time I downloaded the trojan. I just installed a virus scanner a little while ago, so the trojan and key logger have been working from around 11pm last night to 12am today. My Gmail account was working fine in the morning around 7am, and I was able to log into Google Talk from school around 8:15am. Then at around 9:40am, I couldn't log in on a different computer to Google Talk anymore. My friend who sent it was at school the same time as I was, but he could have been using a school computer or maybe his laptop. But I called him just a little while ago, and he denies ever sending me a trojan or knowing anything about my Gmail account. To give you a little background, he is kind of a new friend, so I don't know if he's trustworthy or not, although I don't really think so anymore. So is there much chance that he wasn't the one who stole my account? The trojan I downloaded was from a website he hosts himself too. What are the chances that even though I got the trojan from him, some other uknown person is controlling it? Thanks!

Most people just don't randomly guess stranger's passwords. Usually just friends play pranks... I know this from experience :D
