Yes and that has happened.

oh. lemme go buy 2 more gigs of ram since apparently my machine isn't standard anymore.
4gbs of ram is completely unnecessary for everyday operation. Only power users would ever dream of needing that much, and its only useful is Vista which handles and accesses memory a lot better.

oh sorry, don't wanna rain on your parade ;)

HELL its not even needed if you play crysis on high at 1680x1050 (though my 4850 does have a slight beef with that), in XP.

It's pretty much the only job he's capable of doing at Google.

How the HELL did you get through their interview process?

I got to the final stages of google's interview process a month or two ago, but they whacked me. I was still happy that I got as far as I did, I was almost to the end.

Good job!!!

EDIT: Sorry, did NOT mean to bump this old thread. Saw it in a search and thought it was recent.

good, now get them to enable push technology in gmail to compete with microsoft live. I hate having to hit the send receive on my phone to get new email.

Blackberry FTW. My Gmail account works just fine through the Blackberry's email app. My phone often buzzes even before the email shows up on the Gmail Notifier app on my computer. They also have a dedicated Gmail app for Blackberry, but it's redundant.

Most salary jobs are like this. Google is not exclusive.

You haven't really worked until you have worked for a financial company!!

True dat, but a financial company pays the BIG BUCKS!

In comparison, Google pay is pocketmoney.

Luckily the lease on my new place started on the 1st, so I had 2 weeks to move stuff.

Normally students in Madison get it rough with all leases ending on the 14th of August and the new ones starting on the 15th. Doesn't leave much of an option for moving, and even a problem of one night with nowhere to keep your stuff :(

I have heard of this night of homelessness. Glad I'm not competing with UW-M students for housing :D

One benefit from the switch to vB is all of these classic threads can be necro'd one last time.
