Google a monopoly?

Anyone else feel Google could become a monopoly in the near future? As in, next 10 years or so!

I don't have much to say on this myself, but it's a thought that was in the back of my head

nah. i don't think MSN or yahoo are going anywhere.

msn has benefit of windows/ie default

yahoo has benefit of being old ass

I don't see them buying out competitors and becoming the only one in a particular market or area ...

And a lot of the things they offer are offered by many others ...

Most non-tech people I know still goto yahoo over google. I don't see that changing anytime soon.

brin and page don't seem to be as money hungry as gates and whoever else does those monopolies. they just are lucky -- and very smart.

IIRC, being[/i] a monopoly isn't illegal, but certain actions taken to create or maintain a monopoly are.

MSN search is actually getting to be quite good in search results now.
