Good sunday morning to those of you who have a morning ... ;)

Good night to those who go to sleep - no matter what time of day it is.

The limoncello looks somewhat poisonous? Or is it more viscous? Is that our moat liquid? No wonder that the horned trout was sluggish! ;)

Well - not really. It just looks similar to some chemical stuff as it is often depicted in Hollywood movies ... ;)

Me and Liz have 4 accounts: she has 2, I have 2. 3 accounts have all 3 campaigns (Prophicies, Factions, and Nightfall). The 4th account--my second one--only has Nightfall as of right now. In that pic, I'm missing a Prophecies and Factions box. ;) And I've pre-ordered 2 Eye of the North so far.

A "terrible" drink - and it is the liquid in the moat of Fort DC. :p
It is so strong that the horned trout BMC has imported into the moat of Fort DC is very sluggish ... ;)

Well, Good Night, Folks, time to sleep. :D

Okay, so I finally made a good set of directions for making limoncello that I can be happy with. There are many variations--this is the one taught to me.

Ingredients
  • 15 lemons
  • 2 - 1.75 liter bottles of everclear
  • 6 cups of sugar
  • 6 cups of water
  • large container (the water jugs like the ones used in office water thingys work great)
  • funnel
  • gold coffee filter (not paper type)

Directions
  • zest the 15 lemons, being careful not to get any white (it ruines the flavor). Put zest into container.
  • Add one 1.75 liter bottle of alcohol to container
  • Let sit in a cool dry spot for 2+ weeks, the longer the better.
  • After 2+ weeks, filter out the zest and put the lemon-alcohol back into the container.
  • Add another 1.75 liter bottle of alcohol to container
  • Heat six cups of water and slowly add sugar until dissolved. Do not boil the water. Let cool to room temp.
  • Add simple syrup (sugary water) to container.
  • Let sit another 2+ weeks.

Notes
  • Zesting is best done with a cheese grater. I have tried using a zester, but a normal thing works better.
  • Add the zest to the container immediately after zesting for best results. You don't want it to dry out any before adding it.
  • Don't cool the simple syrup by putting it in the fridge. This causes some of the sugar to undissolve.
  • I usually change the recipe just a bit by using 5.5 cups of sugar to 6 cups of water.
  • Vodka can be used in place of everclear. Everlcear is more true to the Italian recipe, but is very strong. Good if used for mixes and the like. Vodka cello is perfect for sipping.
  • Vodka doesn't pull the flavor out of the lemon zest as well as everclear does, so it would be a good idea to keep it seeping for longer.
  • Once finished, limoncello should be decantered into a smaller container and kept in the freezer. It will not freeze. Also, it is best served right from the freezer.
  • Certain vodkas make better cellos. I prefer Svedka vodka for normal mixing, but Skyy vodka makes a better cello for some reason.
  • Don't let people drink limoncello too fast--they will regret it in the morning. Remind the people you are sharing with (if you choose to do so) that they are basically drinking straight alcohol and sugar.

So what is limoncello then?:p

Not yet. GW2 won't be out til 2008 or 2009. An expansion for GW is coming out--it's not like the normal campaigns. Eye of the North is going to be a true expansion, made expecially for lvl 20's.

Limoncello is a liquor that they make & drink in Italy. It's served ice cold usually in a small glass (around the size of a shot glass) after dinner. Wikipedia entry on limoncello. I got the recipe from a friend of mine from the Navy whose father still lives in Italy.
