They can send them anywhere but here. That crap is just too damn expensive for what it is. With extra joycons so enough people can play and a few games, you're looking at over a GRAND for entry. It's hilarious, lol. A grand for a switch with a few joycons and a couple of games, haha!

But what are you comparing it with?

I'll admit I'm not a big Nintendo fan, especially after the Wii U and the streamer copyright/ad revenue sharing dramas years ago but these new prices and limitations are crazy. I could see people eating the $450 price but the game prices and the drm scheme for some key cards just aren't gonna fly with most Nintendo fans.

It gets even better lol:

Sounds like people need to lay off the Switch 2 and back Nintendo into a corner where they might need to start lowering prices.

Nintendo fans are somewhere between crack addicts and meth heads. Nintendo doesn't have to back down and the next generation console games (or even some this generation) are going to cost just as much.

Nintendo confirms no hall effect sticks, so we get the same crap drifting sticks, same planned obsolescence so we can keep having to buy controllers. What a scam, we had hall effect sticks on the damn Dreamcast.

could be cause of magnets. They did the sticks were redesigned, so I'm waiting for the teardowns

I suspect you are correct. I remember someone stating that the Joy-Cons use magnets to make their connection, which would cause lots of problems with hall-effect sensors.

Nintendo says preorders start on the 24th. The price of the console is staying the same (for now?) but the accessories did get an increase of price.

I got in on a couple preorders last night but I still don't really know if I'm even going to keep one. I'll see as time gets closer if I am feeling the FOMO or not. If not, then I'll just cancel em or give em to someone else.

I didn't want an XSX and bought one last minute due to FOMO and damn do I regret that lol.

Holy cow. Got the email about preorders midnight of the 24th and my smooth brain did the math and told me to be online tonight - the 24th - at 11pm.

So, I think a "midnight" timing for the preorder release was pretty dumb because I didn't think about it critically and it got me.

@purbeast0 lmk if you are serious about passing on one of them and would prefer to re-home them. *edit* - a belated "Please" 🙂

I am on the Nintendo list for people with memberships and all that too, but who knows how long that line is. I saw an article that Nintendo was shocked that in Japan 2M people got in that line...

They have a well-priced option in Japan, so I am not surprised. The rest of the world is not so lucky, so I would suspect the demand would be a bit lower, but who knows, people are not exactly rational.

I didn't bother since I will be traveling most of June, don't need to worry about getting a package when I might not be home. Don't really care that much, mario kart world looks fun, but cannot justify a system for one game. I can wait. My kids are into PC gaming now, so no pressure from them (yet).

Well, recognize, the Switch 2 won't just be Mario Kart World, but also Metroid, Zelda, Pokemon, Kirby, and Mario (just not all right away).
I know I'm talking about at launch. There is nothing aside from MKW, and then DK is a month or whatever later, but that game does not look interesting to me.

And I could play Metroid Prime 4 on my OLED Switch if I wanted to. I couldn't care less about the 4k they are touting for it nor the 120fps.

I see the Switch 2 as a 8 year purchase. For me buying at launch means lower pricing and plus its backwards compatible.
Same, but I know like the Switch I’ll be more excited about it for the first five years or so, about PS6 or so I’ll start to get frustrated with the performance of any non-Nintendo game on it.

I saved my TOTK play through for the Switch 2 and my daughter and I just finished the latest Kirby game so some time later this year it would be cool to revisit that with a solid frame rate and actual draw distance.

With MK that’s like 2 years of Switch 2 gameplay for me already 😉

My kids enjoy it the switch a lot and I remain sorta hopeful we’ll stable performance on legacy titles too and there will be a couple I finish.

So Nintendo can earn my money when they put out one of those and it's great. Or they could end up with another gen where the Mario games were New Super Mario U and Super Mario 3D World and the Zeldas were just remasters of Gamecube games and I'll happily sit the gen out for them.

Good point to some extent. But unlike with the WiiU, we know that a Metroid, 3D Mario, and Pokemon games are all deep into development. The question simply becomes how far apart does Nintendo want to space releasing them in order to maximize purchases of the hardware. If Nintendo follows previous precedent, the 3D Mario game will release in September/October/November timeframe for the Holiday sales season (almost every mainline Mario game released has done this, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World 2, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Maker, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Bros Wonder..... Pretty much the only exceptions being Super Mario 2: Lost Levels, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy 2).

I just can't believe it has been over a year since Wonder released... I have not even played it (I have had it since release).
