Here's hoping the Klingons don't use it for target practice! :Q

ahhh.. the CB... Ass1 and I had some good fall outs on that old thing....

"Get off the 19.. bloody hell.. i wanna get out.." was what we usually used to here from General Lee... err I mean Assimilator1 😉

"Stuart, stop using that bloody channel jammer!!" was another... 😉

I dont think Ass1 liked the fact that I (from 10 miles away) could key over him to a guy less than 2 miles in a straight line from him 😉

NWM
It was illegal for everyone.
CB was legalised in 1981 ,originally on FM only from 27.401-27.991MHz (10k steps) ,they had dumbass rules about aerial restrictions too ,max 1.65m ,those crappy things caused more interference too!

,so almost no one used them😉.1/2 waves were legalised eventually in about 1996 I think.

Btw my handal is General Lee (took the name from Dukes of Hazards😉) though I havent used a CB since June 2001 when my old Sierra was taken away to be scrapped after an accident 1mth before.Haven't had a homebase setup since May '99🙁 ,I used to speak to people all over Europe with that ,& occasionally in the USA & Canada when the 'skip' was up!🙂

Confused
lol
Inccidently I 1st meet DrE,The_One & Darkone via CB!🙂

Talk about an engineering feat... Think about this for a minute. Pioneer 10 was able to align its 9 ft antenna so that an 8 watt signal could be transmitted and subsequently received by a radar dish on earth nearly 8 billion miles away... Now that's incredible! The precision involved with that feat alone leaves me in absolute awe.

And SKY Digital could never get my mini-dish aligned properly so that I could actually watch TV....

buy a satellite finding kit Col, I moved house last year and Sky wanted to charge me £100 to come and fit the dish to my new house, so I bought a £20 kit and did it myself... took me no more than about 15 mins 😉
